It is a beautiful climb but it is almost straight up, perpendicular the entire 2 mile + climb. I don't see how runners do the run every July?? I actually have a friend than ran it. Don't be fooled, it looks like a simple trail but I got lost up on the trails. I was alone with the bears. Thank goodness none of them introduced themselves personally or ate me for dinner. But I had to slide nearly the entire way down on my butt. Guess what? I had no seat left in either my pants or undies. LoL I was sore for 2 weeks. But man, I don't regret the climb and the scenery is breathtaking. The air isn't too awfully thin. You can actually get cell reception at least up to the 1/2 way point. Just be sure to secure it well, not in your pocket/s. I lost mine during my climb.
