Beware-not nearly as special as the advertising would like you to think! The location is right on the road, and it was hard to see the mountains from our room. It is worth noting that EVERYTHING in Seward has a mountain view, the entire town is at the foot of a mountain, so no reason to pay extra for this. We were especially disappointed because this was our last stop in Alaska and we wanted something special. Instead, we got an average room on the bottom level, underneath a family of elephants (or so it sounded), who ran around all night and watched television until 5:00 am. The hotel must have some very cheap construction because you can hear everything your neighbors do, and the noise from people on the top is beyond belief. When we asked for another room, we were told that it was a problem because we were staying 3 days, and the cruise ship passengers were given priority rooms at the front of the building. This is totally unacceptable. If you stay here and are not part of a cruise, you are second class. We were finally able to move to a handicapped room, which was quieter above, but we could hear someone snoring so loudly next door I thought a bear must be hibernating in that room. There are plenty of places to stay in Seward, and the town itself is cute and accessible, so I would definitely skip the Seward Windsong.
