“Large Rooms, very peaceful and quite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

A lovely hotel with very large rooms. The restaurant is excellent and the servers were friendly and very efficient. Ask for a room at the back for better views and more privacy. Also, if you can handle the stairs - get an upstairs room. I think the bottom floor would hear every footstep.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back for better views and more privacy. Also, if you can handle the stairs...

This lodge is out from town, across from the Resurection River. It is made up of several different two story buildings spread about grounds. The pretty surroundings and rooms are kept up very well. It was a comfortable place to stay while on our Celebrity cruise tour. The food in the restaurant was very good and the servers were fun and very friendly. The lobby was very cosy with lots of grouped seating areas. There is a shuttle into town

Room Tip: Get a downstairs room since there are no elevators in any of the buildings.

We enjoyed the view from the front of the lodge. Our unit was by the restaurant and parking was tight during dinner. Good thing most of the people came on a cruise ship so we could park the car most of the time. Staff was wonderful and friendly. The map of downtown really helped and the free shuttle service was a nice thing to have. The rooms were pretty clean but not perfect. Did not see any wildlife.

Comfortable accomodation and pretty surroundings. Beds were ok and lodges main lobby very cosy with a fireplace. We stayed there for one night on a Celebrity cruise tour and it was good considering the hotels In the area are only seasonal. The only wash basin is in the bedroom which is pretty annoying and odd, it should be in the bathroom. Overall ok for one night, wouldn't stay longer.

The staff is very friendly and willing to help in any way they can. The property is beautiful and serene. Everything we saw around the lodges was well kept and clean. If it was not so far from Florida we would go back in a minute. They have a shuttle to town, so you don't have to use your car. We did not use the restaurant.

Room Tip: First floor are always better with a lot of luggage, second floor rooms are nice with no one above y...

My wife and I, outsiders, spent three vacation nights in August 2012. The rate was $144/night plus tax, if any. We had a ground floor room with a deck in the Elderberry unit. When I called to ask about the view from the room, I was told we were across from the river. Not. Well, the property is, but not our room. The deck faced into woods behind the lodge and we never used it. If I went back, I'd get a less expensive room with no deck. On the other hand, the room was very clean, up to date, and comfortable. (Some may complain that the "bathroom sink" is in the bedroom. Not a problem for us.) Our main lodging complaint was the noise factor. The "lodge" is comprised of 13 separate buildings (more or less), each with 6 units up and 6 down (more or less). From our ground floor room we heard everything from the guests above us, including night-time snoring.

I review the Resurrection Roadhouse restaurant, which is part of the lodge, separately.

Room Tip: Get the least expensive room you can.

Mixed feelings on this one. The room was clean, somewhat small. The sink, vanity, and mirrorwas in the sleeping area, so everyone will be up when the first person gets up. People were smoking on the porches of all the lodges, so we had to keep the windows closed and could not sit outside. The breakfast was OK, but overpriced. Shuttle service into town was good. Staff helpful.
