Pat and her staff were very eager to make us feel at home from the fresh baked muffins, to the hand dipped ice cream at night..Lodge is located at the end of the road and overlooks the lake.Your stay at the lodge will be a wonderful experence.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Dennis and Pat in Seward. We had the Lakeside suite which was great for the four of us. The bathroom is down the hall but private. The only issue was that there was no soap or shampoo. This wasn't a huge deal but it is the first B&B we have stayed in without toiletries provided. The lake was great and the salmon were spawning for we canoed over for a first hand look. We also hiked to the Harding Ice Fields - truly spectacular and the trail head is quite close to the B&B. Breakfast was simply but filling and, after walking around Seward, we can definitely say that a B&B is the way to go here.

Dennis and Pat- Thank you for a wonderful stay at your beautiful abode. It was truly the best place we stayed on the Kenai peninsula.

First off, we really enjoyed the hospitality and relaxed atmosphere. I really appreciate the way you engage guests and create a comfortable social environment.

The facility was immaculately clean and we enjoyed our room. The shared bathroom was not a detriment, and we had a great view out of our bedroom of the mountains and lake. The bed was comfortable and the room had ample space for two people.

Being outdoor fanatics, we especially enjoyed the lake and taking the kayaks to the sockeye salmon spawning grounds about 20 minutes from the lodge dock. We enjoyed seeing lots of ducks and the local eagles hanging out on the lake.

Also, while we stayed at this B and B, we hiked up to the Harding Ice Field along the Exit Glacier. This hike has a trailhead about 15 minutes by car from the B and B, and is one of the most incredible hikes we have taken in N. America (8 mi R/T). At the top of the hike, one can see miles of amazing glaciers and ice fields, mountain goats, and wildflowers. A very special place!

The breakfasts were good and located in a great dining/living room that had wonderful views of the lake. The entire facility is tastefully appointed and updated. It is easy to find from the Seward Highway.

Thanks again for a great stay. We look forward to returning.

Room was very nice with good space and a comfy bed. Only downfall was you had to go out of your room to use the (private) bathroom.
Hosts were very accomodating and knowledgeable on the area and things to see.
They fix ice cream snacks in the evening. Breakfast is light but nice (no protein).
On property activities.

This is a really nice place and the hosts are great. It's a beautiful setting on a small lake just a few miles north of Seward. It's quiet and very comfortable. It's very clean and there is a special ice cream treat every night.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and it was amazing. The house was spacious and clean and the Perrys were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed kayaking on Bear Lake, the views were breathtaking. Don't miss the 8pm ice cream bars, they were delicious, thanks Dennis and Pat!! We look forward to coming back in the future.

We stayed at Bear Lake Lodging for two nights (July 5 and July 7) on both sides of an overnight cruise leaving from Seward. Our hostess Britta was incredibly helpful and answered all our questions about getting to our Kenai Fjords cruise on time. She is extremely knowledgeable! We enjoyed all our hosts, including the big old retriever Trooper. We had the Lakeside room one night and the Bear Lake Deck suite the other night - both were luxurious, with extra-comfy beds. The jacuzzi bath in Bear Lake Deck suite was especially welcoming, since the previous day we had hiked up to the top of Fox Island and our sore muscles really appreciated the soak! We made use of a canoe the first night there - saw a muskrat out on the creek. The breakfasts both days were quite nice - muffins hot from the oven. Really, the whole week was charmed - perfect weather, the Mt. Marathon crowds had moved on, and there weren't even very many mosquitoes. If your tastes run to adventures during the day and luxury accommodations at night, Bear Lake Lodging is perfect!
