“SO glad we snorkeled with mantas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

We got to the slip to find out we were the only ones that booked that night, so our group had an accidental private tour! It was so much fun, and Jason and Fadra (sp? sorry!) were great and made sure we had anything we needed. They came stocked with plenty of snacks and beverages, including hot chocolate. We went out and got a good spot, and quickly got into the water to see the show. At first there were only a few and we probably wasted some pictures on mantas near the bottom...in a few minutes they were everywhere! And so close we had to strain not to touch them! I think we counted 14 at once. It was beautiful and so memorable, not to be missed!

“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

Capt. Jason and Phaedra were the best! Very informative, attentive, and skilled at keeping up with the dolphins! We were able to get into the water with a large pod several times as they zipped along the coast, and then spent some time on a beautiful beach that is only accessible by boat. We had a small group of only 7 people, so the experience was even better (for us as well as the dolphins, probably). Even better, the photos are included in the price of the trip so you have a great memento. This is a really well-organized and professional small business. Open ocean is definitely the right way to "interact" with dolphins, and Sunlight On Water is devoted to promoting this type of responsible eco-tourism.

“Second time I've done these trips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

And will do it again! I did both the dolphin swim and the manta ray swim. I loved them as much as I did several years ago. Truly unique experiences! Nice crew. Really good opportunity to get up close and personal to dolphins and the manta rays are just so awesome! I was disappointed they did not offer the DVD of the swims any more. Only a few pics posted on Facebook. So take your camera! And wear a swim shirt or something to keep you warm in the water at night. They do give you a shortie wet suit but one layer is not enough!

“Most amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

Once in a lifetime experience to see Dolphins in their own habitat up close. Amazing how close they get and they are playful. You aren't allowed to touch them but its all about respecting them and their natural habitat and for their well being. The captain is off from other boats but wow we seen sooooo many dolphins. Its a bit tiring in and out of the boat but all I can say is Wow, so reasonably priced, provided water and snacks and gear. Its a MUST do if you are in Kona!!!!!!!!!

“Well run, good fun and hot cocoa!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Once in a lifetime opportunity to see swarms of manta rays and nature delivered ! Bree and Jeff were competent and professional. We were lucky it was only a small group - about 12 of us - otherwise it could be a bit crazy.
The tour was timed well, we got a great show, plenty of time to enjoy the experience and were the first boat back into harbour at a reasonable hour. (About 8.30pm) so this one is definitely good for the kiddies.
Good instruction and guidance from our hosts, well entertained and taken care of,including a hot rinse off and a cocoa when we jump back on board.
This is a must do experience if you're in Kona - not to be missed! And Sunlight on Water make it all very easy and comfortable, including shots of your adventure loaded onto their facebook page the next day. Nice work.
Two tips:
1.Take a warm jacket for the ride back in the evening, unless your from Alaska, it's a bit chilly even in the tropics of Hawaii.
2. These guys now have a mooring on the opposite side of the harbour (on the Kona town side) to all the other tours, so make sure your driver takes you to the right area.
