If you happen to read any negative reviews on Dolphin Discoveries, please spend the time to read this one first. We read the negative reviews and laughed at how people can turn a positive into a negative. One reviewer mentioned roughness on the boat, come on, your in the ocean. So, we look to the good things and certainly this experience was a thumbs up for us and we highly recommend it.
My wife and I just finished our inaugural ocean snorkeling experience and can't say enough positives things about it. First, the captain named Mike was funny, interesting, and focused on us having a good time within the confines of the rules and policies of the wildlife, land and common sense stuff that typically get in the way of a good time. The trip was sold as a 4 hour tour but lasted almost 5. Mike asked us early on if we had a prior engagement later in the day and if not, he wasn't pushed for time. Well that might seem like a negative thing to the owners of the company; in my business which is services, it's a "wow" factor we try to deliver daily.
Both snorkeling sites were fantastic however, my wife and I enjoyed the second site a little better. More coral, seemed like we were in a large salt-water aquarium. Mike took the time to stop when we had questions, wanted to take a photo and/or just wanted to look at the landscape. He is definitely tuned to the customer and their needs. On the way back, we spent more time learning about the island, the culture and some "possible" myths he was happy to share.
With all that, my wife and I without hesitation, would do it again and recommend it to friends and family.
