“Great soba noodles”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Went for dinner. Fantastic ahi sashimi, eel/cucumber roll. and tempura with cold soba noodles. Seaweed salad was just green salad with some seaweed on top (we thought it would be all seaweed). House Sake inexpensive (Sho Shiku Bi) was not very good so we splurged and bought a 300ml bottle for $27 which was excellent. We sat at one of the table where you take off your shoes and put your feet in a pit under the table (I forget the name of these tatami room type tables). Wanted to get Shabu-Shabu but for $50+ I needed another family member to share it with me.... Was not very crowded for a friday night at 7:45PM. It is tucked away in the shopping center. Other places seemed to be crowded that were right on Alii Dr. Bubba Gump was busy with tourists and another place was busy with music and serving drinks. We were just looking for good Japanese food without tourists and happy hour crowd. Yokohama hit the mark for us.

“Not recommended. Small portions and Pricey”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

This place was recommeded by the hotel we were staying at. Bad recommendation. Worst Grilled Saba I ever had. It was overcooked. My friend had Giner Opakapaka and it was very salty. Portions were small and it was pricey. I would not recommend it.

“Opakapa!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

This fish dish was especially good, served in large pieces (skin, bones and all that removed) in a shallow bowl of yummy broth. It was delicious. Also very good, was the Shabu-Shabu - thinly-sliced beef with mushrooms, cabbage and noodle, cooked as wanted in a pan of hot broth on a gas-fired table-cooker. Japanese beers and plum wine nicely complemented the meal. THe tea was avery good, as was the Coffee ice-cream. Sadly, there was only one server the night we were there, and service was too slow for our liking - not to mention a shrieking infant Aussie!

“Authentic Japanese”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

This is not specifically a sushi place, but offers also many authentically Japanese cooked fish dishes. It is a bit off the main drag and usually didn't appear that crowded, but we were very pleased with it.

“Nothing to write home about...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

We were the only people there for dinner at 8pm on a weeknight. Food was good, a little pricey. Not all that remarkable of a place.
