“Exceeded High Expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

The boasting reviews of the Ohia Park Estate were one of the reasons we chose this B and B over others. True, true, true ... Amazing attention to detail, spacious tastefully decorated suites, modern spa bathrooms, excellent breakfast, the best friendliest hospitality, beautiful 3 acre grounds, gym, English pub, the perfect choice for a stay near Kona, relaxing with afternoon drinks and snacks on the lanai, and the greatest unforgettable customer service!

Many thanks to owners Robert and Daniel for going above and beyond. I smile every time I think of our stay.

This place is paradise! The attention to every detail is incredible. The estate is gorgeous, the rooms beautiful and tastefully done, and the food magnificent. I could go on and on but I think you get the idea.

Daniel and Robert are amazing, Swiss hospitality at it's finest (i kept telling my party how much i loved these men and wanted them to adopt me). Our hosts truly went out of their way to make sure every want and desire of ours was met.

We arrived at the Ohi’a Park Estate Kona, on Big Island after a "so-so" experience at a condo in town. Imagine our delight to meet the gracious owners who did everything to make our stay memorable and totally restored our enthusiasm for the Big Island.

The estate is a lovingly tended 3 acre paradise with flowers and fruit trees everywhere you look. It is in a peaceful residential area, not even ten minutes from downtown Kona and with a splendid sea view. As others have mentioned, it is high enough to be away from the crushing heat at the coast and sleeping without air conditioning meant no dry throats and no allergy problems.

There is a fully-fitted fitness room, hot tub and even an "English Pub" for celebrations.
We have travelled widely (Europe, Africa, USA, Australasia) and have never had a bed and breakfast experience to match it.

The luxury suite was spacious, brand new and decorated with a taste we have seldom seen. Everything (and I mean everything!) was impeccably clean and thought through to the tiniest detail – top quality toiletries, fresh flower displays, fruit, water and a stocked refrigerator. The bed was the most comfortable we have had.

Breakfast on the sea-view Lanai (terrace) was a delight (see photographs). Fresh exotic fruit, the best breads and coffee we have ever had in USA, yoghurts, cheeses and turkey ham were served up as a matter of course and then we were offered a full cooked breakfast too!

We too experienced (as we loved to call it) the fun wine, nibbles and chat time in the evening. The owners are friendly, accommodating, cultured, multilingual Swiss and know more about the Islands than most of the tour guides we encountered. They were more than happy to make recommendations which made our holiday the delight it undoubtedly was.

All in all, a stay against which all others (whether hotel or Bed and Breakfast) will be measured. A difficult job to find anywhere as good…we'll just have to go back!

From the moment we arrived at Ohi’a Park Estate on the Big Island, we felt welcome. The care and attention that our hosts put into making our stay as pleasant as possible was outstanding. We’ve travelled extensively to many parts of the globe, but nowhere have we had a better bed and breakfast experience.

The three-acre estate is at about 1600 feet above sea level, with well-maintained lawns and plants, in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood. Our suite was large and comfortable, with a contemporary shower and spacious bathroom. The beds and bedding are truly luxurious, and with the windows open to the gentle breezes, sleeping was wonderful. In addition to our suite, there is an expansive deck from which we enjoyed sea views, and a beautiful sunset.

The breakfasts on the outdoor terrace included a wonderful mix of fresh island fruits, eggs as you like them, choices of yogurts and breads, and coffee to die for! My wife is gluten free, and our hosts went to great lengths to accommodate her special dietary needs.

Our visit to Hawaii on this occasion was to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday. Not only did our hosts decorate the breakfast table in birthday style, they gave her gifts and roses! Over the top – just fabulous!

Every evening included either pre-dinner wine, or a nightcap, during which time we enjoyed their company and ideas for our next days adventure. They know a great deal about the island and the best ways to enjoy it, and we certainly followed and appreciated their advice.

We recommend this bed and breakfast without reservation to all – and particularly to those looking for somewhere very special to celebrate a life event.

We booked a 10 day trip for Big Island and stayed for the whole journey at the Ohi'a Park Estate. We were positively surprised and are convinced to have chosen the pertect accommodation.
Ohi'a Park Estate is located in an expansive lush tropical park (about 2acres) in a residential calm neighborhood with above average sized guest suites. The breathtaking ocean view from the large deck is unforgettable.
The perfectly organized team pampered us during our stay and a delicious breakfast was served daily. The suite, tastefully decorated in Island style, was always spotless clean.
Due to the elevation (1450f above sea) there was no need for an a/c and we always slept perfectly.
Done town Kona can be reached within 10 minutes.
Ohi'a Park Estate is a true insiders' tip we can highly recommend.

This was our second weekend at one of the most beautiful B&B's on the Big Island of Hawaii! We were greeted with 18 long stem roses in our room, as a "Birthday Happy", absolutly stunning and totally unexpected. What a way to kickoff a tremendous 2 day stay.

The grounds are awesome, and the setting is outstanding with views that go directly to the ocean and North Kona. The rooms are elegant, roomy and with delightful touches that make the stay even more eventful, and rememberable! Your hosts spare no expense to give you the most during your stay. The rec-room has the best in exercise equipment, a beautiful pool table, and music to boot. The lanai, the deck, the furnishings are comfortable, relaxing and allows one to just sit back and relax and take in the warm breeze coming up from the ocean. And if that isn't enough, a Barbecue Grill, Microwave Oven, and a 4-person SPA await you on the deck as well!

The breakfast is like no other at any B & B I have ever experienced. It offers both European and American elements; your hosts outdo themselves in making sure that you have plenty to eat and more, and with a flair for the best and the mostest.

We look forward to another stay at this glorious B&B, hosted by two of the most generous people I have met. They make you not want to leave, and their establishment is like a home you could live in for a long long time.

I took a few days off and decided to stay on the island, but wanted to get away from home. I had heard good things about Ohi'a Park Estate so I gave it a try. One of the best decisions I have made. The place is great and Robert and Daniel are incredible hosts. The suite was so clean and fresh. The bed was so comfee I could have stayed in it my entire stay. The first day I was there I started off with unwinding in the jacuzzi and every day after I did the same. One day I decided to go down to the beach and Daniel made me lunch to go which included sandwichs, chips, vegies and dip, also drinks. My own little picnic!!! Each morning I was served breakfest on the lower lanai, after I would have coffee in my room and lounge around a bit. After dinner cocktails were a great touch. The best B&B I have ever stayed at.

Room Tip: Room #4 is at the end of the lanai and offers the most privacy.
