“What a great place to spend the week!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2011

From the late night check-in, to the staff, the condo, the grounds, and pool this place is really nice. Everything about this place is great. The resort info page doesn't say enough about it's location. You can walk to the village in 10 minutes. The ocean is across the street and a little beach is about five minutes walk. Timeshare talk issues? Just say no- the people at the desk aren't high pressure just informative.

This was our second time in Kona, first time at this Resort. Check in was a little rough because we were a few hours early and instead of just telling us the room wouldn't be ready until 4 (which turned out to be 5) they kept telling us it would just be another half hour. So we went and bought groceries and they had to store them for us and ANYWAY...

We were in 15B right by the middle pool and BBQ's. Ended up being a great location with us having our kids there. It might be a little close to the action if you're just adults. All buildings have 4 rooms, upper floors are A's and the lower are B's. My only two complaints about the room would be that we heard every step the people above us made and our clothes dryer took half the day to dry our towels.

The condos are spacious, have huge decks complete with beautiful furniture and the beds were super comfy. The linen closet had extra pool and room towels and decent bedding for the couch bed, we didn't need to request anything extra all week. I really thought the rooms were nice and fit our group of 5 perfectly.

The front desk has coolers, beach chairs and boogie boards if you need them so don't buy those things. They said it was first come first serve but we pretty much just kept what we borrowed all week. The cooler came in handy on those long drives around the island and at the pool because there is no bar or vending machines around. They do have childrens activities at the pool area but they don't do any announcements or anything to remind you. Also out by the front of the resort they do daily activities, most of them timeshare related. They started with the offer of $100 to do a presentation and ended with a $175 offer. I don't feel like they were aggressive or bothersome to us so that was good.

You definately need a rental car, none of the restaurants or sandy beaches are very close especially if you are carrying all of the above. The food was average and every afternoon it clouds up, probably just the time of year. Kona isn't my favorite island but we definately had a great vacation and I would recommend this resort to anyone.

We stay here at least twice a year. You can't beat this place for location, design, comfort, and value.

Everything on site is immaculate, and the staff is the best on the island. We've stayed many places, but this is the place we call home whenever we are on the Big Island.

Not sure how expensive this resort is because we use the timeshare of a friend of my brother. It is located off a main street by the water but not close to any beaches. The apartment was huge, the only negative is that they were a lot of bugs/lizards in and around the apartment (just in case you have a fear for them). We didn't spent a lot of time there because as you know the island is huge so we were always driving somewhere during the day. Other than than that I recommend it.

The Wyndham Kona resort is one of the nicest we have stayed at. Pictures show it exactly as it is. Staff is amazing. Rooms were lovely and comfortable. We did not use the pools, so can't talk about them. Grounds were lovely. They asked us to review wyndham rules since we were owners. The discount card saved us over $500 on activities, so even though they went over their 45 minutes it was still worth it. It is definitly one of Wyndham's gold crown facilities. We had a problem with ice maker not working and they fixed it immediately. We arrived around 7:30 and they had put us in a ground floor unit, I really wanted the quiet of an upper unit, they found one and changed our location. They are also one of the resorts that offer air conditioning, and even though most will say you don't need AC in Hawaii, don't believe them. You sure do in July.

We booked this resort directly through the Wyndham website and absolutely loved this place! The resort was beautiful, condo was huge and spotless, and the grounds were lovely. We were there for only two nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. The "concierge" did keep trying to sign us up for the timeshare presentation, but we just said that we did not have time due to our short stay.

This was one of the nicest timeshare locations we have ever stayed at. The unit (2 bedroom/2 bath) was big, clean, and nicely furnished. It was in a great location, near beaches and restaurants. The only downside was that we were badgered about going to the timeshare presentation by Wyndham. If you keep saying no the offer goes up and we ended up getting a $175 Amex gift card to go for an hour's presentation that was really no pressure.
