My wife and I stayed in #323 Casa de Emdeko for 4 weeks in Jan-Feb/2009, and have never enjoyed a tropical vacation so much. This small (736 sq. ft.) 1 bedroom suite has recently been redone with good quality tile throughout, granite countertops and new cabinets, large tiled shower and so on-all very nice and comfortable. There is a lovely view from the lanai over the tropical gardens to the sea. We found everything very comfortable and thought the unit represented excellent value.
Casa de Emdeko is very well maintained in general and well situated, set back far enough from busy Alii Drive to be quite quiet, but close enough to town (with an ample supply of restaurants, shops and other tourist traps) to be convenient (about 1 1/2 miles with good walking conditions). We highly recommend this for a quiet, restful vacation for a couple without children. Although the unit has a hide-a-bed in the living room, we thought it is a bit small to be comfortable for a family; however we noticed that many units of this size were occupied by families with one or even two children, during our stay.

One thing I would add to the reviews of Casa de Emdeko is that the building sits back off the main road, with a small strip mall and parking lot as buffers to any road noise. While there I checked out the other condos that I had considered and noticed that they were all REALLY close to the road and would get traffic noise. I was very happy with my choice. Also, the guests were 90% middle age to senior citizen. A quiet location, not a party place, very few kids.

My husband and I stayed at Kona Awesome Condo (Unit 125) at the Case de Emdeko for 10 days during October 2008. The unit is delightful and due to the "use something, leave something" policy you don't have to purchase things like salt or rent snorkeling equipment. We cooked in a lot, having breakfast and/or dinner on our patio or at the common lanai. We saw dolphins dancing in the morning and lovely sunsets in the evening.

The complex is pretty and well-maintained. It is near town and a short ride to get to the highway for further sightseeing. We would definitely plan to book again if we have a an occasion to return to Kona.

We stayed in condo #125 for two weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. The condo was clean and well stocked having all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Our 2 year old daughter adjusted quite well seeing this was her first big trip. The property itself is well kept and right next to the ocean, both pools were great but we spent most of our time in the traditional chlorinated pool as it was close to our unit.
