“Great Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

I recently came back from a Hawaiian cruise that went to the 4 main islands and did many excursions.. By far this was a stand out to me! I was a little worried going into it as I am not an avid gym member and I knew it would be about 3 and a half miles in paddling. Cassie was our guide and picked us up from the pier and we drove about 25 minutes or so to the location. I would recommend calling ahead of time to reserve singles or doubles depending on what you would like as they get really busy.

Cassie gave us a rundown of the tour and then we were off. The scenery is stunning along the cliffs and we go out to a coral reef snorkel site. They provided all snorkel gear as well as snacks so we had a mini picnic anchored together on our kayaks just floating over a coral reef. Afterwards, we were given the option of jumping off the opening to a cave some 25-30 feet down!

Cassie was fantastic and really got a feel for everyone's abilities and interests which made it a bit more personal. This was a stand out tour and I would recommend this to anyone in the Kona area. This skill level needed is not that experienced as the water was fairly smooth and even though its a little under 4 miles, it did not feel like it was that long at all.

“Snorkel trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

Really fun. Crew was super helpful and friendly. The kayak trip out to the ocean was great exercise and the water was bright sapphire blue. The cave portion was a little rough but it was still very exciting. Snorkeling we saw lots of fish, coral and some brave souls jumped off the cliffs into the ocean-what fun :)

“Wonderful Adventure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014 via mobile

Friendly informed guides led the way to a really fun morning of kayaking, snorkeling, cave exploring, and cliff diving. We were met with smiles and personal service even though we were a big group. We felt safe and well cared for on our adventure. We were treated as family and our guides were there to help with whatever we needed the entire 3 hour tour. I would highly recommend this company as it is a great value for the money.

“Very disappointed concept”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

This concept could be interesting but it is not the case with this agency.
Once on the site, we secured a catamaran (internal business? ...) And start joining the factory tourist in the water without knowing if the rays are present. We are bonded to each other without being able to have any freedom.
You must have snagged a board, head down for an hour and you do not have the right to go for a swim ...

My sister and brother-in-law went through another agency kawak much better and adventure. Autonomous, they arrived on site without going into the water, all identified spots to see where the ray and found a shake whenever necessary to optimize the adventure. Free swim as they want.

I absolutely do not recommende "Ocean Safaris Kayak Adventures" for this trip except for families perhaps ...

We are sorry you had a bad experience and did not see any Manta Rays the night of your trip, as rare as that is, it does happen.

All of us here at Ocean Safaris pride ourselves on safety, fun, and have a deep respect for the ocean. Manta Rays are wild creatures and need to be respected and not harassed by people swimming after them. They are to be looked at and enjoyed for their size and gracefulness.

“Awesome views, experience, and guides.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2014 via mobile

Guides Angus and Lee we very personable. I am happy that my wife and myself booked and went with them. Understand that conditions beyond their control affects your trip. Wish we stayed long enough to go again. Keep up the good work guys!
