“Nice Relaxing Place For Dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Rosa is upstaiirs overlooking Alii Drive, and we sat right next to the railing. Good scenary (of course). Drinks were good, food was good - we had beef fajitas for two, and the music entertainement was perfect. We will go again.

“Waste of time and money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013 via mobile

I was hopeful here when the chips and salsa were good but then our food took 20 mins. We orderedfajitas, usually hard to screw that up but they managed. It want grilled but sauteed in a flavorless sauce and looked horrible. The waitress never asked once how our food was or questioned why it was barely touched. Maybe her $4 tip made her reflect on it. The place was about 10% full so no excuses there. Just another bad touristy place, i recommend stay away!

“Dinner was Excellent; Service not so Much”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

We were feeling like Mexican and checked Tripadvisor, asked our Concierge, and asked a couple of other people at our hotel, and Rosa's was unanimous. We called and got a reservation, asking for a table on the rail overlooking the bay.

When we got there for our 6:30pm reservation, Rosa's was reasonably crowded, but they had saved us a table at the rail. We ordered their cucumber something margarita's, delicous!, and enjoyed them with home-made chips and salsa as we watched the sun set. Wonderful!

In danger of filling up on the chips and salsa, we ordered dinner, Carnitas for my wife and I had the Molecavitas (sp), a house specialty that I had never heard of before. We both got mountains of food! If we'd have wanted to have the same thing, we could have easily split either of these and still had left overs.

The Carnitas were absolutely wonderful! Pork cooked all day was moist and tender and delicous! It came with choice of beans and rice. We both took the House Beans and they were great, more like baked beans then refried beans, and delicous in your taco or by themselves.

My Molecavitas (sp) came in a huge, very very hot pot, with a stew like base, quartered tomatos, huge onions, green peppers, and a big ball of melting cheese, and the skirt steak. The steak was super tender, and all the goodies in the pot made for delicous tacos!

The service did leave something to be desired. Our waiter was either inexperienced, had too many tables to cover, or just wasn't very good, but he frequently walked near us without even looking to see if we needed anything. We couldn't get his attention to order another round of margaritas, for example, so we ordered them from somebody else. Water glasses never got refilled. And we had to ask another server for our bill because he just went missing for 15-20 minutes.

Dinner was Excellent; Service not so Much.

“Poor food and service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

Food was below average... Tasted like it was right out of the can it came in. Chips are greasy, salsa came from a Pace jar, rice was starchy and crunchy, al pastor was dry and over cooked, beans had no flavor, guac was not fresh.

Waitress was either having a bad day or could give a $hit about being at work let alone taking our order or checking on our table during our meal (and we had our kids with us).

Rosa's was 2/3 empty at 12:30... That should have told me everything I needed to know.

“Great food and value!”

Very friendly, more of a family feel but great for couples, great food. Better than any other place that we tried. Low key..
