My reviews are based on four categories: food, service, atmosphere, and prices.
FOOD: (What you really care most about right?)
I have read most of the reviews on Yelp, and I was recommended the French Toast Sandwich, Veggie Muffaletta, Reuben, Coconut Lattes, and Papaya & Mint Smooth.
Coconut Latte was very nice - not too rich. I anticipated a "heavier" style coffee (think Starbucks), but it is actually refreshingly light. I didn't feel it was weighted down with lots of milk. An enjoyable drink to try for sure!
I did not have a chance to sample the Reuben or the Veggie Muffaletta, HOWEVER, there were a few people who ordered after me and those were the chosen items.
The papaya and mint smooth was delicious for sure. It was not sweet, but it provided me with a fresh earthy taste. Not a typical smoothie if you are thinking Smoothie King or something.
I did get the French Toast Breakfast Sandwich -- very good! It is literally ham, cheese, and a scrambled egged put between two pieces of thick-sliced Hawaiian bread and grilled on a panini press. I was really full after eating this that this sandwich with a drink was plenty for me.
Overall - It tasted very fresh and everything was made to order.
Very attentive. It can really be no less because as soon as you walk in to the cafe, you are immediately noticeable and directly at the counter. There were two younger girls both working on preparing the food and drink. The food does take at least 10mins (that's with 4 french toast sandwiches, a smooth, a latte, and two coffees to go). It appeared every was made to order. If you wait outside on their picnic tables, they will bring the food to you when completed.
This is definitely a place where locals go. We were the only tourists there, however, we went at 8:30am in the morning. After we placed our order, locals starting showing up. (Clearly they were locals because the girls recognized them and asked if they wanted to the usual). It is a small almost "one-room" shack (but not shack in the sense of dirty and bad). Shack is used for only size of the place. It is quiet, but you can park in the hotel parking lot that says it is designated for the Green Flash cafe as well. It's a place to stop, order, and go, although they have a picnic table to eat it, if there is room at the time.
Food is on the inexpensive side. Prices range from $3.00 - $8.00 (for drinks and sandwiches.) It could be more than $8.00 so do not quote me on the prices. One of the cheapest places for a good drink and food in the area without spending money at a restaurant.
Definitely a place to check out. I went while vacationing, and it was a great stop to grab a quick breakfast and drink before a 2 hour drive. I do not feel you will be disappointed. Enjoy!
