“Definitely a favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

Went to church service on Mother's Day and was in awe of the beautiful dance the children performed for their loved ones. Just sitting in the first church in Hawaii was a little humbling. Everyone made me feel welcome!

“Oldest church on this island”

Beautiful old church in heart of Kailua-Kona across from the street from Hulihee Palace. Beautiful interior, lots of history, visitors are welcome.

“A great little Church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

What a gem this is. The church has been well preserved and cared for. The woodwork in the church is amazing. I was a little disappointed there was no one to talk to about it. The church was neat and clean and the grounds outside were well maintained. An interesting place to visit particularly for the age.

“Beautiful inside and out, lovely grounds.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

Very historic sanctuary with beautifully crafted wooden posts and beams throughout. Upon entering the building you sense a feeling of calmness. All the native wood creates a wonderful fragrance. Even on a very warm day the ocean breezes keep the building cool. All are welcome to the Sunday services and greeters are happy to offer more information about this lovely building. It's a nice place of respite to visit after a long day of sightseeing. Take time to see it.

“Oldest Active Church in the Islands.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Part of the history of Hawai'i. About 200 years old shows construction and materials from that period. Located in the heart of the village you can't miss it as you stroll along Ali'i Drive.
