“Very tasty food for more than reasonable price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

The ambient is very nice, the old fashioned, with an open fireplace. All the time you can see workers, putting on the meat, scampi... mmmm, it looks so good! So, our waiter was very nice and friendly, he suggested us some fishes with polenta. We ordered this and it was really delicious! Oh, by the way, the toillet is very nice, clean and with very nice scent (the only minus is, that it is upstairs). We also had some white wine (good, but very strong taste) and water and at the end we ordered chocolate dessert with olive oil (very good) and vanilla cream with forest fruits (wild berries), which was also good. We finished with coffee and payed just few euros more than 30!!! We were very suprised about the tasty food and low price for it. We will definitelly come back, I highly reccomend it!

“Western Istria? Go Inland For a Good Meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

No deep blue sea within sight, this is the inland Istria. A wonderfully rebuilt old Istrian house less than ten minutes drive from the best local hotel, Kempinski Savudrija on the seaside. Parking no problem. Warm reception, rather rudimentary table settings – but this is a »konoba«, taverna in other Mediterranean countries, not a posh restaurant. Very small, but cute and impeccable restrooms.

Service is well beyond reproach for a konoba, quick, smiling and helpful. Although I did have to pour the wine by myself for most of the late lunch. Wine list offers a truly good choice of Istrian producers, yet (again…) when I find a jewel, it is no longer there. Or is about to come within a few days. We had an alternative of a »sole menu« (it was one of the sole fish days in the Istrian autumn), but opted for meat instead, more authentic on the location. Except for the Bistecca Fiorentina, which was a faux pas, needing some more time under heat and in foil, the dishes were well prepared. Of course, as »konoba« indicates, this is authentic culinary Istria, no experiments, no chemistry, no foams. 13+ on a 1-20 scale is my impression of the culinary art shown. Excellent deserts, the two of us even had three to check the entire range…

As we also had white truffle and their top wines, the bill was hardly reassuring considering the standard (90 EUR per head), but the overall impression was very good. One can also eat good food and drink good wine there for a very reasonable price, and the place is commendable indeed to all tourists/visitors seeking truly good authentic cuisine. Maybe not the best konoba in Western Istria, but surely one of the three.

“Excelent as always !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

After dining here for several years, I have to say that it is absolutely delivering perfect experience of tastes.
You have to taste "Buskarin Gulash"!
If sitting outside, I would recommend mosquito repellent.

“Nice Family Dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

We had a very nice Familiy Dinner at this place. The fish and scampi where very good. The place is also very charming. We have been there during off season and because of this it was not so crowded. The prices are a little bit higher then usual, but still exceptable for the quality.
