Spent a week in Croatia and had a really good holiday.
The hotel Maestral was lovely, modern, clean and friendly. The restaurant was good, lots of choice for everyone, especially liked the red wine......
Our room was quite modern. Lots of wardrobe space, flat screen tv, mini bar, we had a balcony but no view of the sea - this wasn't an issue for us, view we had was OK.
The hotel has around 10 tennis courts so if you’re into your tennis it’s the place to go, also has an indoor pool, gym and a sauna, really nice, clean and well run.
Pool good size and also has a kids pool, only moan I would have is the number of Germans who were up early putting towels on sunbeds and then going off for 3 hours, even when it was raining!!!
Like a previous reviewer I think we were the only people in the Hotel from the UK - certainly Scotland, hotel population was mostly German/Austrian.
The small town of Novigrad is around 800m from the hotel and has lots of restaurants, cafes & bars and some shops. We spent each night going into the town so can’t comment on the hotel entertainment.

“Great Holiday”

We just loved Croatia. Such pretty little towns that you could get lost in.
We stayed in the maestral hotel. This a short walk to the town, which is good as you can enjoy the peace. The hotel was nice with lovely staff. we went on the very last week the hotel was open and were the only british there (the majority were german, austrian bus tours). We only heard 1 other english speaking couple in the resort. The hotel had both indoor and outdoor pools both good sizes. The beach was mostly man made and stoney with big concrete sections for sunbathing.
There are a good choice of resurants in the town which are all very resonibly priced.
We took a trip to Venice for the day, well worth it but it is a very long day and venice can be very busy. Lovely city just for a visit.
We also took the local bus to the neighbouring villages, very easy to work, just need to check the timetables for connecting busses as could be stuck in some towns for a long time.
If you like a relaxing peaceful holiday with plenty of walking this is the place for you!!! enjoy!!
