“Stay Away!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2009

We stayed here one night. Upon check in we were told they did not have our reservations even though I booked them 4 days earlier. We had booked 2 queens and were told none left, only doubles. They did come up with a queen room, smelled musty and carpet was wet next to bathroom. Found out next am why. Our toilet overflowed and was cleaned up with towels that were wrung out in the bathtub and then left there. That's because maintainence wasn't on duty for 3 more hrs. I will say they did give us a refund as none of us were going to bathe in that bathroom. Kids were looking forward to swimming. Pool was very dirty.

This is an OK hotell for the money. The lady at the front desk was nice, the room on the small side. The bathroom was clean, but the paper cover on the soap bars were moldy! The hotel is very close to the main road in Twentunine Palms = Lot's of noise if your room is facing the road, which ours did. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. No complains really, but nothing exciting either. It's a good hotel for one night or two when you're hiking in the area. They have wi-fi but it's very slow.

We stayed for one night at the Motel 6 location in Twentynine Palms. All we wanted was a clean, quiet room for a single night's sleep after a long day in Joshua Tree National Park. The room was shabby and stark, but we We are avowed non-smokers. At checkin, we found the room smelled suspiciously smoky. The front desk assured us the room was non-smoking. They also offered us a chemical air freshener, which needless to say we declined.

During the night, cigarette smoke slowly seeped into our room. When we awoke, we were coughing and our eyes were watering. Our room smelled like an ash tray. We also found our neighbor smoking outside our door.

We complained at the front desk at checkout, and were told we weren't the first to report this. Apparently the ventilation system is set up to connect a set of smoking and non-smoking rooms, and the nimrods haven't fixed it. We were also offered no compensation.

Twentynine Palms is cool and Joshua Tree is beautiful. But you can do better. I can't recommend this Motel 6, and I certainly won't be saying at it again.

We stayed at Twentynine Palms for 2 nites, to visit the Joshua Tree Park.
The hotel is well located, its in front of the park and near all convenience.
The rate was good for the room and we had nothing to complain about.
The park is just 10 minutes away from the hotel and we enjoyed.
There is a nice pool and a jacuzzi.
The only problem was the washing machine and Ice room.
It was kinda dirty in the morning but hey I was only getting Ice for a day trip to the park but still there was water everywhere and dirty clothes on the machines.

I stayed at the hotel based on the excellent reviews posed on this site. I was not disappointed. The hotel has obviously been renovated recently and the carpets, curtains and bedding was new and clean. The staff was very helpful and found me quiet a room at the back and away from the street. (Thanks for the tip, TripAdvisor!) Simple, clean lodgings for $45 - what more can you ask for? As a nice bonus, the wireless internet worked flawlessly and was remarkably fast.

Great value compared to other hotels in the area. Took my family out to JTNP for the weekend and needed a clean, quiet place to stay. We found this motel 6 perfect, the room was clean and looked new. Upon check-in we were greeted by a young lady, who imformed us of how to get to the park, and offered us a guide map as well as area restuarant's and such. We stayed 4 nights in a room with a microwave and refrigerator at a minimal cost of three dollars more.

The manager alowed us to park our car overnight while we camped in the national park.

I stayed overnight during a visit to Joshua Tree. As everyone knows, this is your basic few-frills motel, but it was thoroughly clean, A/C worked great, nice tub/shower, and it had a perfectly pleasant little pool and jacuzzi. Service was courteous. You might want to ask to be in the back, away from the highway - there is a little road noise, but it didn't bother me much . You also get a 10% discount at a BBQ just down the road.
