“Happy New Year from St. Anton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2011

We spent our week at Hotel Post from the day after Christmas 2010 until the day after New Years 2011. We were dazzled from breakfast through dinner with the menu and especially on New Year's Eve - What a very special and magical visit we had!! The staff was very nice and accommodating, we asked for the recommendations of the Sommelier, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Austrian red wines he suggested- all of which were very reasonably priced - $75 or less US dollars. The room was spacious and comfortable, quiet and only a 5 minute walk to the lift with ski gear. There is no location more central than theirs, and they very quickly came to pick us up at the train station. We were definitely one of only a few 'first timers' and were surrounded by many families that had returned for 10 or more years. We will probably return, but 2011 has a challenging traveling calendar over the Christmas Holiday to deal with. The staff was so kind, I had emailed them to ask about a Christmas concert and they went and bought the tickets for us and handed them to us upon check-in, the boys choir was amazing, but the customer service was outstanding!!

This hotel is so good it's more like a club than a hotel- it's simply so good that once you've been once, you'll want to return. And then you'll realise that the same people return year after year. (Some families have been for 14 years on the trot).

So what's so very good? The answers are simple: unstinting attention to detail and generous quality. To give examples: the half board food is extraordinary. (In other hotels you might feel that a pen pusher has worked out exactly what should be on the menu to ensure a decent return.) In the Hotel Post it seems the chef has been allowed simply to buy the best ingredients, cook them, and put as much on the plate as he'd like- more than enough for mere mortals. The breakfast buffet goes on and on, through standard cereals, eggs and sausages and croissants, to include strudel- sitting there on the table, for you to cut as you choose.

But for all the staff's professionalism, they're not stuck up. While some trained waiters get upset when children disrupt their service, the Hotel Post crew enjoy it, and have a smile and a joke. (They mostly also have been there for years and years, even if they're just in their twenties....)

The hotel is also beautifully made and maintained. (Horrible shock to return to France, and find mildew in a hotel bathrooom). But it is also decorated with wit and care.

As you read this, do you think "Why does he go on?" ? The answer is: I go on because we liked it so much we'll go back once again, probably again and again and again.

Join the club: you won't be disappointed.

Just one prosaic note on which to end: a holiday at the Hotel Post will probably be slightly more expensive than, say, Mark Warner (depending what bargains you can extort from MW). But Hotel Post is so very much better it's also very much better value: good and generous food, expert staff and a beautiful well maintained hotel compared to dab and swirl commercial portions, keen amateurs and crumbling has been hotels....

Hotel Post, A dedicated business run by Family Alber for the past 30 years is situated in the most central spot of the village and offers one more than you could ever imagine for your ski holiday experience. The Hotel is 4 star however could most easily earn a 5 but remain so in order to offer competitve prices whilst maintaining a service and excellence next to no other. Your arrival to the Hotel Post will greet you with a very large dedicated parking area right infront of the hotel. Ski storage rooms located directly under the hotel with the ski lifts vertially at the Hotel's doorstep. Amazingly beautiful rooms that cater for all from business groups, private groups & families. 2 Restaurants with local and international cuisine. A beautifully kept traditional Austrian Lobby and lounge bar with an enourmous lounge area complimented by cosy live music with both both local and international artists. A large terrace for the sun lovers offering also the restaurants services. Below the Hotel Post is one of the most largest nightclubs in the village " The Post keller” with fantastic in house local & International Dj's joined to without a doubt one of the best live music bars in the whole of Austria "The Piccadilly Bar" offering the best international in house musicians/entertainers in the business. Both the Piccadilly and Postkeller are open for apres ski and trade right through to the early hours of the morning.
The Hotel's relax centre offers an impressive, Heated swimming pool, Finnish sauna, Bio Sauna, Whirlpool, Aroma Steam Bath, Sea Salt steam bath, Meditation room, Kniepp-basin, solarium & massages.
However mostly, you will be in the wonderful hands of the highly proffessional yet down to earth and equally as charasmatic staff whom cater for all your needs and manage to reel you back in each winter season. I've been visiting this Hotel for the past 19 years and simply can't get enough of the wonderful staff who know you by name, the facilities and the regular guests, a great deal of them who have been coming back to this Hotel every winter season for more than 2 decades.

Always a pleasure to return each year to the smiling faces of the staff at Hotel Post.
The Alber family always make you feel very welcome. Hotel Post is the best situated hotel in the village. Right in the centre of town, close to shops, pharmacy, lifts and restaurants, but no need to spend your money elsewhere when the food at Hotel Post is superb.
On street level, the hotel has it's own Night Club (Postkeller) & Live Music Bar (Piccadilly)
I have spent many a fun night in Piccadilly singing along with the great variety of acts that perform there. They have music 7 days a week both in the afternoon and in the evening. It's definately the Hot Spot in town. I'll be going back again in 2011 for the 14th time :-) can't wait!

Hotel Post compliments this world class resort for Ski as a world class hotel. A Family run Hotel that goes out of their way to make you feel at home. With all the facilities expected from a Hotel of this high standard that has return customers year on year. I can highly recommend a visit, you may find it will not be your last.

My family has been in the ski business since 1920 so I know a little about ski resorts and hotels...I have skied all over the world and have never found a finer resort hotel-it has the real old world "austrian" charm! Still family owned and operated by the hospitable Alber family.
Offering 5 star service yet maintaining a very "relaxed, sporty" atmosphere. It is not a "stuffy show off" hotel. You always feel welcomed and the staff knows you by name!
The food is spectacular and is included in your room rate. This ffood purchased separately would cost hundreds of dollars elsewhere! Authentic tirolean dishes to 5 coarse goument dinners, and a breakfast buffet that is magnificent!
The night life in the hotel offers 2 night clubs and they are the most popular in town! One is a european disco and the other offers live rock and roll. So in the evening you never have to leave your hotel!
The spa is better than any Ritz Carlton I have visited. A huge indoor swimming pool, multiple saunas, jacuzzi, and a on staff massager.
The beauty is you can walk from your hotel to the slopes in 5 minutes. The hotel is located right on the active walking street-a super location for after ski shopping!
You have to check out this one-of-a kind ski hotel. It makes you excited about your ski holiday again! Herb Lahout USA, Owner, Lahouts Ski Shops-Americas Oldest

This is my favourite Hotel in my favourite ski resort. The hotel is very well run, the staff very friendly, but best of all the Alber family treat their guests as friends and valued customers.
It feels like returning to to a friendly fun environment, what can be better before one tackles the trials and tribulations of the slopes and bars.
