We spent at hotel Sonnenheim 2 weeks in august 2010.
Lovely 24-rooms familiar hotel with direct contact with owners, real 5 minutes walk from town center in quiet position with fantastic view, delicious and various cuisine, spotlessly clean and spacious rooms.
St. Anton is a very nice town, base for several hiking tours and for different cable cars.
Very few people in august, so we spent almost all days walking to some Alm around the town and all evenings in the hotel playing with our 5-years-old child, even because weather was bad.
The hotel is located in perfect position, in a quiet zone but very close to the pedestrian street (better passing behind Schwarzer Adler Hotel through tennis court to save some time).
Mrs. Maria is wonderful and is everywhere, always smiling, trying to speak italian to explain daily dishes and bringing small gifts to our child.
Carolina cooks very well and in a much varied ways compared to normal austrian cuisine.
Every evening we had different soup, salad from buffet, one small appetizer (tomato & mozzarella, ravioli, smoked trout, etc.), one main dish (fish every friday, schnitzel, pork, lamb, vegetables strudel as she called it and so on) and one dessert (strudel, sacher torte, ice cream, fruit with cream, etc.).
Natural water was always free of charge, beer is more economical than mineral water as usual in Austria.
The only complain about dinner is that (maybe only in summer time, since we were only 10 people in the whole hotel) there is no real choice from daily menu (even if I am sure that they would help you if you do not eat something).
Breakfast was very rich with bread, brioches, different jams, nutella, fruit, yogurt, fruit juice and several different kinds of tea or coffee/cappuccino to drink (obviously free of charge).
Our room (number 208) was enormous, a real apartment, maybe 50 m2 with separated room for child and two balconies at very cheap rate of 130 €/d half board (60€/d for adults, 10€/d for 5-years-old child) and was every day cleaned and maked-up so nicely by Mrs. Safetta!
Bathroom also was large and very clean, equipped with hair drier.
We were not interested in sauna/fitness so nothing to say about.
Covered garage for 8-10 cars.
