“Lovely family run hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

Stayed at Grischuna over Christmas 2011. It was very pleasant stay in every way. The hosting family was wonderful and very helpful, We had a 4 year old child and he had plenty of positive attention, so he still talks about his experience and how he enjoyed his stay in Grischuna. The hotel is very pleasant, wooden traditionally decorated. Very nice small area for relaxation with sauna. Nice food at breakfast and dinner. The walk down to the lift and the resort central area was not a problem especially there is a place at the lifts where you can keep your skiing gear. And afternoon pick-up was always very handy.
If we ever return to St Anton I would stay in Grischuna hotel again.
Thank you to Family Sattler to make our stay very enjoyable.

We spent 10 days in Grischuna, in St. Anton, for the New Year Eve in 2010.
Everything was excellent: accommodation, excellent food, more than friendly staff... we felt pampered!
The hotel is located in a very quiet area, 10 minutes walk away from all major destinations: bars, restaurants, club.
The greatest choice of all was the half-board reservation: all dishes exceeded many other 4* restaurants menus, so I left with 3 kilos more in weight!
Sankt Anton itself it's a place to come back, over and over again, and Grischuna definitely is the perfect accomodation!

Room Tip: We had a corner room, with a great view on two sides of the mountain!

Very clean, comfortable and quiet Lovely hot and powerful showers. Loved the mix of nationalities staying - most of whom were on their 20th visit!! Fantastic food and service both at breakfast and dinner. Wine not cheap! We would stay there again. A real treat. Sadly not open in spring nor summer. Very helpful in collecting luggage from one hotel and transporting to theirs + the lift to the train station on our last morning made things easy for us upon departure.

Room Tip: Personally I would not want to be off the reception/bar area and was glad we were allocated a room o...

Have just spent another Christmas holiday at the Grischuna hotel, and had to repeat my previous review, as we had such a good time. The welcome is outstanding, and the food is AMAZING. I can't recommend it too highly.
I arrived in a blizzard, having had to abandon the family and the car as we couldn't get the snow chains on, but the owner and his son immediately set off to rescue them. This is the kind of service you only get from a family run business.

We have stayed here on several occasions. The owners and their sons are fantastic hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Our car was rescued from enormous snow-drifts before we had even got up! The food is excellent and the wine too. This hotel is also the cleanest I have ever stayed in.
And in reply to a previous review, I can't imagine the owner ever being rude to anyone, and the number of repeat guests testifies to the warm welcome we, and others, have already received.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. we were a group of 7 people in 4 rooms. (kind of fathers and sons trip)
if you are looking for a small size hotel, everything build from wood and with a thinking of every detail, the family who run the hotel taking care for everything you ask, and great food - go to this hotel.
I can't explain in words how amazing the food is (it is also a restaurant). The service is excellent, the food served very nicely (which is important as well) but above all, it just tastes great.
Every night we were surprised by the quality of the food! we were a big group of people and all of us agreed the Chef is excellent. (we even went inside the kitchen to thank him personally)
After dinner you can relax in the lounge near the fire with drinks and table games.

No one is perfect so some small disadvantages of the hotel:
As other people wrote here, the hotel is located about 5-10 minutes walk up hill from the city center and the ski runs. You leave your ski gear in the inter-sport ski shop just opposite the cable car (even if you don’t rent there), so in the morning the walk is a good short walk before the actual ski. At the end of the day you can try to catch the hotel van which takes you up, but if you arrive late, you will need to walk up the hill. If you are lazy you can take a taxi as we did almost every day.
There is no bath in the rooms (except the Junior Suite) which I believe is a nice way to relax after a long day.
Most of us felt like the bed pillows are too soft. (I asked for an extra pillow and of course after 5 minutes they brought one to my room)
The hotel spa is clean but the facilities are minimal.

On top of the great food and the nice rooms, I would like to thank the owners of the hotel for taking care of any request, their kindness and great ski/snowboard tips (Raimund is a local ski expert and probably in everything).

Don’t hesitate where to stay in St. Anton – go to this hotel.

Beautiful small hotel!! My husband and me, spent there a week and although it is up a hill, it is just a 5 minutes wlak to the center and the hosts pick you up after skiing in the center.
The hotel is cosy and very comfortable, and in addition the hosts are really charming. The restaurant is simply excellent wiht a delicious menu and a really good service.
The perfect hotel for a skiing week!!
