“Excellent Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

A very comfortable hotel, decent sized rooms and easy access to ski lift. The owners gave us a great welcome, a real family run business. The breakfast was the usual Austrain affair with fresh boiled eggs. We also spent many evenings relaxing in the sauna and steam room. Would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: I think most rooms face the street and you can often hear the happy revellers coming home from the b...

Excellent location, as a convenient short walk along pedestrian only path for the Nasserein Lift. Only a 10 minute walk to alternative lifts and the busier town centre in the other direction. Hotel was very clean, warm and welcoming. Room was purposeful, clean and enough space to feel comfortable. Family owned, we felt welcome and the breakfast routine was consistently satisfying with usual help-yourself cereals, fruit, yogurt, breads, boiled eggs and cheese/ham platters.

Definitely return and no problem recommending this for a great stay.

Room Tip: Second or third floor to avoid any lower level activity noise. Lift is available too.

We stayed here for a week of skiing / snowboarding in January. It's very comfortable, and convenient to the Naserein lift. The only negative thing about the place is that it is located along a path that drunk Brits seem to travel at 3am crawling back to their chalets from wherever.

Room Tip: You might try a room on an upper floor to avoid noise.

We stayed here for one week in an unseasonally warm March - the snow conditions were more like April - our base was here on a B&B rate - the hotel does not serve dinner. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was simple but ample with fresh eggs everyday, as well as the usual, ham, cheese, jams and bread etc. Location wise, it is at the Nasserien end of town and to access the slopes, only a five minute walk to the Nasserien gondola. So not ski in - ski out. There is a rather small ski and boot room in the basement, but enough space for everyone's things and the hotel was fully booked the week we were there.

There are plenty nice restaurants within 5 or 10 minutes walking distance in the evening and those familiar with St Anton, will know all it has to offer in skiing and apri-ski terms.

I would recommend this as a good value place to stay and hope to return again.

This was a real last minute booking which turned out perfect.

The hotel is located about 5 minutes by foot from the Naserein lift so is ideal for skiers. They also have a great ski locker underneath the hotel.

The staff were all very friendly; it's run by a family who were great and they even let us check in about 3 hours early!

The rooms were both spotless and very well equipped and stylishly decorated.

The breakfast buffet was delicious, jusjust what you need before a day on the slopes!

All in all, very very impressed!

I have just come back from a week at the Goldnes Kreuz Hotel. My friend and I had our own seperate rooms. The rooms are always warm, very clean and a little more spacious than experiences in France. The owner is not as described in previous reviews. I found him to be polite and helpful if direct and to the point. His partner was pleasant also.
The breakfast left a little to be desired and better space to serve oneself in would be better as would a little bacon to go with the scrambled egg.
I would not go back to St Anton personally but if I did I would happily stay here again.

This a very good B&B, not really a hotel. As others have stated its a good location for both town and the Nasserein lift. You can ski down "Fang" and almost to the back door.
Clean, comfortable rooms, a decent breakfast buffet and good sauna & steam room.
The host is ok, he's teutonic.
Incidently if you want a bath in your room make sure you ask for one, because some rooms just have showers.
