Have just got back from a week at the Traube booked through Neilson. Whilst agreeing with most of the feedback left so far I don't think the low ratings are justified.
Firstly, lets get some of the negatives out of the way. Some of the rooms are a little pokey. We had 104, 206 and 302 which could be seen as basic, but were actually very average for Austria and considerably better than some I've stayed in in France. Room 205 was a better size, and I got moved to 409 during the week which was a lovely room.
There can be some noise from the bar area, particularly on the first floor rooms, and there is a security light outside 104 which can make it difficult to sleep (hence the reason I asked for a different room).
As for food allergies, we needed a gluton-free menu for one of our party. This wasn't a problem, and would have been ready from the Saturday if we'd mentioned it when booking. As it was as soon as the supermarket opened on Monday, the menu was adapted as necessary.
Everything else was very good. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, and all spoke excellent english. Nothing that we asked for was too much trouble.
The food was good - Bacon and scrambled eggs, toast, cereal, and fresh fruit were available for breakfast (perhaps no porridge, but they can't supply everything). A three course dinner, with a choice of two mains, which were well prepeared and delicious.
A convenient location right in the middle of town, close to the lake and less than 10 minutes to the main lift.
If you want somewhere to stay for a romantic break then this may not be the place, but if you want somewhere convenient and hassle free then give the Traube a go.
