The hotel is an excellent choice. Nice rooms with fantastic breakfast and dinner alternatives, combined with professional service, will guarantee you a fantastic vacation. The hotel is located close to the slopes so it is only a short stroll before you're up in the mountains. After a full day of skiing we really enjoyed the afternoon buffet, with a beer on the terace. The spa offered a newly refurbished pool area (really nice) with several sauna choices.

We've been here now for four years in a row and will happily return next year. We just love the place.

Fantastic setting and great staff. I can also recommend that you take half-board during your stay as the food is fine dining at its best.
We had an unforeseen tragedy whilst on holiday and the staff were unbelievably responsive to our cares and needs.
We go every year to different resorts and hotels but the Hotel Alpendorf will be very difficult or impossible to better.

This was our second visit to Hotel Alpendorf and the hotel exceeded our expectations. We love it! The food was uniformly excellent, from the vast and varied selection on offer at breakfast to the five course gourmet dinner in the evening. Service was extremely professional. The well trained staff were able to deal with every request and enquiry with charm and politeness. The majority of the rooms are traditionally furnished but with hd tv and wifi. The wellness centre offers a pool with jacuzzi, a relaxation room, sauna and steam room. Children are well catered for. Our only quibble would be with the smoking. For a country that promotes fitness and well being, it is extraordinary that so many people smoke. Hopefully, Austria will, in time, follow the lead of Ireland, Italy and Spain and ban smoking in public areas.

Hotel Alpendorf is a beautiful hotel with delightful staff and clean, pretty rooms. The Wellness centre is particularly good with a super pool, steam rooms, saunas and relaxation area. It does get very busy with little ones in the early evening but aim for after 6.30 and it is peaceful and very therapeutic The actual village is very small and has a few bars but it is very picturesque. Nightlife was quiet at the beginning of the week but was lively towards the end of the week when the apres ski bars were busy both before and after dinner. The skiing is fantastic with many km's at your disposal. It's not particularly challenging with only a few black runs which were not too demanding but the mountain infastructure and lift system was superb and the mountain huts fabulous!

I have been going to the area for over 20 years, but this is the first time in this hotel. I booked a romantic suite and it was well worth it. The room was large, with a seating area with table, and 2 televisions. it also had a zacuzzi bath and a large balcony. A really friendly welcome at reception from Sweetie, ( yes that's her name).
the hotel is modern, with traditional Austrian features! including all of the staff wearing traditional Austrian clothing. it has a good sized ski locker room with plenty of heated rods for ski boots, and a lovely swimming pool with really comfortable sun beds which made it very easy to slip into a relaxing sleep after a hard day on the slopes.
The only downside for us was the restaurant. Breakfast was the same daily, a little variety would have been welcome. The evening meal was generally 5 courses ( a superb gala dinner one night was about 8 courses). The chef was clearly trying to test himself with his menu, aiming at fine dining, but in my view falling short on basics like seasoning. I am still wondering what was the point of "celery foam" on one meal!!!. The quality and presentation of the food is not in question, but after a hard days skiing the portion size was a little light, and some vegetables would have been appreciated. Overall the food lacked flavour. I stress, the quality of ingredients was high, the variation at breakfast, and seasoning let him down.
One other small point, if you take children, beware of the cost of a glass of coke, it is dearer than a glass of beer, which it thought was a little perverse.
We loved the location, the view, our room and the friendly staff, if it was not for the food issue, it would have been a 5 star report from us. We will be back and look forward to a fried egg and some mushrooms for breakfast!!

Room Tip: It is well worth spending that little extra for the larger rooms with a balcony

Great position, family owners and staff professionals and very friendly. Room clean and well appointed.
The restaurant was also very good, but it was a lot of food.
Fitness center /spa good but could have done with a jacuzzi in the pool room maybe.
Relaxing lounge and great cocktails at the bar!

If you are after a good family run hotel on the ski slopes you must consider this hotel. Our family of five loved every part from the food to walk to lifts. Very good pool and sauna post sking. One night try the outstanding ribs in the bar downstairs.
