“Excellent food, service and facilities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

We were a group of 16 staying in 5 rooms. A table was set aside for us to eat together. The service was excellent and the staff very patient and helpful. The ski piste is reached via a free bus stopping opposite, then a 5 minute journey or so till the bottom of the gondola. There is a very generous afternoon tea at the hotel with soup, savouries, cakes, and tea or coffee. The hotel is well located for main roads, station and shops. We made use of the free parking in the basement. The hotel has very good spa facilities, best of all a swimming pool, sauna and a rest room.

We have just been at this wonderfull hotel - we like to thank All the staff at the hotel for a absolutely perfect service and a very cosy environment that makes everyone to feel welcome. If antydning schous change them it's the rooms bevares they are quit small. The smoking room is in the center of the hotel which can be a bit anoying - but everything else is perfect ;)

I have visited this hotel quite a few times. It is family-owned and every time I get back I feel at home. The rooms are very good and quiet (ask at the garden side), the restaurant is just great, and a lot of variation. Although these are business-related stay overs, it can be highly recommended for leisure purposes as well. I hope to be back many times.

Room Tip: rooms at the garden side are quiet

I booked a holiday for my family and partner to visit the hotel over Christmas 2011 and the hotel itself was of a good standard. The staff in the restaurant were really helpful and very attentive and the food was made with a great deal of passion. Kathrin who looked after us for checking in was very welcoming after a really long journey and ensured that all our needs were met. Ensure you avoid the lounging area in the evening if you don't like to be in a smoky environment as the hotel staff and guests were smoking there most evenings which wasn't too pleasant.

The point which truly ruined our holiday and upset us enough to book a flight back the next morning and cut our stay short was the rudeness and arrogance of the hotel manager when dealing with a query. This ruined our entire new years and tainted our holiday so much that we certainly won't be going back again. In summary, if you encounter the right staff you will have a wonderful time, but just don't raise any problems otherwise you will have your head bitten off.

Room Tip: Rooms on the third floor 301-305 can get a bit warm in the evenings and overnight. Most rooms overlo...

We were arriving by train so we chose this hotel only because it was close to the train station. We were not disappointed. First, everything was very clean and nice looking. The room had a sitting room, bedroom, and WC's, all of which had a nice feel. Secondly, the food was great. I could not imagine any better food from one of the hotels in town. Third, the staff were exceptionally friendly.

The value of the stay is high - in that I thought we got a lot in terms of a room and food for a low price, but the quality was high.

Didn't have a chance to use the spa, though the hotel does have one.

Would certainly recommend. Though it is on the edge of town, it is less than a 5 minute walk to city center and is just a quick walk from the train station.

We stayed at the Bruckenwirt Tennerhof in Spring time. St. Johann im Pongau is a beautiful village and my husband had spent time skiing there 30 years before. He couldn’t remember where he had stayed so we left this night unbooked on our trip. Some places were not open in the spring and it was easy to get a room at Bruckenwirt Tennerhof. I wished we were staying in the winter. The village would be beautiful blanketed in snow and the hotel has a lovely ski lodge feel. Its furnishings provide a cozy sense of home and we were very happy with our room. As well as the main public areas downstairs, our floor had its own sitting room. They have two computers in reception for free use, which we appreciated. Staff were helpful, breakfast was plentiful and our set evening meal was pleasant. Although not in the centre of the village, it is a short walk away, parking is easy and we were very happy with our find.
