We stayed 6 nights in march 2012 at this hotel in Saalbach. We arrived late at night. My first impression was that they didn't expect us, they almoust laughed when we arrived and said we had a reservation. They wanted to see it, and I thought to myself "now we have to find somewhere else to stay".. Luckily it was all in my head, and our room on the third floor was waiting for us. The elevator was SMALL, and the receptionist stood in there with us with all of our gear to show us the room. The room was spacious and nicely decorated and gave a mountain-vacation-feeling combined with luxury. Flat screen TV, no A/C (but we had fresh air, so whats the point..). I slept like a baby, and the next morning we had the hotel breakfast, which was amazing. A chef made omelettes on demand, and there were good bread - and pastries. The hotel owner himself went around and checked that everything was in order, and wished everybody at the tables a good morning. After breakfast it was time for some serious skiing. The hotel had a locker room for skigear in the basement, and the boots were heated and ready for a day in the slopes. The hotel had an own shuttle service, and the guests can choose drop off points in the area Saalbach/Hinterglemm. So "ski - taxi out" - and also "ski in" - there were a blue transport slope who took us straight to the hotel. The sauna area was really relaxing and nice. I can also recommend the hotel dinner, we had a 5 course dinner for 29 euro per pax. A good price, and good value. The waitresses could possible use a english lession or two, but it was quite charming aswell - the lack of communication ;) All in all we had a wonderful stay.
