Arrived on the first day of the summer season on 18th June. Everything was functioning as you would expect, even at this early stage. A nice surprise was finding a huge 9x7 foot tv screen in the bar for the football fans who wanted to follow the progress of the world cup during their stay. No need to ask for it to be switched on - it was done prior to each game. It is this attention to detail which is a feature of this hotel. and helped to make the stay a memorable one.

The family have been involved in the development of the area as a holiday resort and running their own hotel for over 150 years and it shows. The facilities are extensive (see the brochures) and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The gardens are a delight and the spa areas are extensive, including 2 pools. Bathrobes and pool towels are provided for guests.

The hotel is located centrally within the pedestrianised area, with both village lifts within a 3-4 minute walk. Shops, bus stops and bars are just a short stroll away. The hotel is everything you would expect a top notch hotel to be, in some parts combining the modern and the traditional. For example, when the hotel was recently rebuilt, some of the old timbers and features were salvaged and incorporated in the stuberl restaurant. Nice touch.

The quality of the food was excellent. The breakfast choice was extensive and could be as healthy or as substantial as you wanted. The evening menus were wide ranging, with a choice for each of the 4 courses....plus salad starter. The food arrived quickly, was beautifully presented, and without exception was delicious.

Whilst Saalbach is a relatively small village, the walking/resort area is extensive, reaching up the valley, whist Zell is just 17k in the other direction and easily accessible by bus. This is where the Saalbach Joker Card scores, giving unlimited free access to all the lifts in the area, as well as free use of the buses.

Would I return to Saalbach? Most definitely. Would I choose to stay at the Saalbacher Hof again? Without hesitation. Would I recommend this hotel to others? Absolutely.

Thank you Saalbach and all the staff at the Saalbacher Hof for a superb stay. Wal K will be coming back!

Just completed a weeks skiing holiday in Austria where we stayed at this hotel.
We were so pleased with our stay here, very comfortable hotel with outstanding friendly service. The staff are very attentive.
We stayed half-board and we don't think we have ever seen such a wide choice of food at breakfast (freshly cooked omelettes are delicious) and the evening meals consisted of at least 4 courses (with choices) of outstanding quality food.
If this hotel was in the French Alps it would certainly cost 3 times as much.
We hope to return.

Just returned from a spring skiing holiday in Saalbach staying at the Saalbacher Hof. It is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was quiet, clean and spacious. The five-course evening menu is fantastic with a good choice of local specialities, vegetarian dishes and healthy options. The waiting staff are all very professional and manage to be attentive without being intrusive. We loved going to the spa area after a day's skiing and relaxing in the different rooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, can't wait to come back to the Saalbacher Hof!

We stayed here for a week over Christmas 2013. The hotel is very well located for the skiing and the town. The hotel is family owned and the proprietor and his family were very welcoming as we're all the staff. There was a lovely Christmas service in their garden on Christmas Eve, with carols, mulled wine and roasted chestnuts. The hotel amenities are very good. The food was fantastic. Our daughter has a peanut allergy and the always made sure no food contained nuts. They often made dishes not on the menu for our son.

We would recommend this to anyone.

I have stayed at the Saalbacher Hof more than 15 times and always enjoy being back at the hotel and always leave looking forward to my next visit. Always personal and attentive service. Enjoyed my double espresso with warm milk and a glass of water being brougt to my breakfast trable on a tray. Tamara provided very proper, professional and friendly service in the bar in the Winter garden. Enjoyed the band playing in Castello.

Saalbacher Hof is one of the best hotels you can stay in. If you wish to sleep good, eat good and live good , this is the hotel to use.

I liked the location of the Hotel, no traffic and just out of the reception you have the pedestrian.
The people that work there are very service minded and professional, the best part they interact and blends in.

Room Tip: Ask for deluxe room, these are large and new,
