“Superb Spring Break at the Strass Hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Excellent hotel for exploring the walking trails in the local valleys.
Particularly enjoyed the Stilluptal Valley and Penken Mountain, via cable-car. Unfortunately some of the higher trails were covered in unseasonable snow, and the Ahorn cable-car was closed.

“Fantastic walking.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Trails are very well marked, and even in snow (in May 2013), some of the high level trails at the top of the Penken and Somergergalm (Hintertux) gondolas were open.
Be aware that some of the trails are very very steep; we walked down from the top of the Penken Gondola, and it took its toll on our knees!
The four valleys all offer excellent trails, with easy route finding. Really it's a walker's paradise.

“Local walks from Mayrhofen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We listened to where the reps were taking guests and then used this as a guide. Took bus to Innerdale and then walked back via the Devils Bridge to Mayrhofen. Paths well signed. Worth buying a local map.
