“Perfect holiday experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

We have just returned from a two week stay at the wonderful Hotel Garni Glueck auf. We have only positive things to say about this hotel. It is set in a fantastic location in a quiet part of Mayrhofen yet only five minutes walk from the shops, restaurants and cable cars. The hotel is very comfortable and welcoming, spotless throughout and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Monika, the owner, is lovely - very friendly and helpful yet not at all intrusive. We are a family of four and had two rooms on the first floor. Both were extremely comfortable with balconies overlooking the valley (something we didn't expect). The rooms were very well equipped with everything we needed including a very nice power shower. Breakfast was also good. I am a vegan and my family are vegetarians and we throroughly enjoyed the breakfast. Monika let me keep my soya milk in her fridge which was helpful. Breakfast included cereals, fruit, bread rolls, toast and meat and cheese for those who wanted it. Wifi was available for a very reasonable rate (10 euros per week) and we made full use of this. The Zillertal Valley was a fantastic holiday destination. We had worried that our teenagers would be bored but that was not the case at all and we didn't manage to do everything that we would have liked during our two week stay. All in all a great holiday. Thank you Monika for everything and we certainly hope to return soon.

We stayed here in early August 2013. The hotel is comfortable, clean. We didn't have a balcony, but still had amazing views of the mountains. There is also an outside terrace that we used once (we were too busy to use it more!). Breakfast is a buffet system - cereals, yoghurt, bread, ham, cheese - pretty much what you would expect in Austria, plenty of it. It' s a short walk, about 5 mins, to the centre of Mayrhofen and access to cable cars, shops restaurants etc. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Just back from staying here for a week. Hotel was fab, large room, very clean and great view of the mountains from the bedroom window. We didn't have a balcony, but there was a terrace on the first floor that we used occasionally. We stayed on a B&B basis and breakfast was fine (lots of bread, cheese, ham, cereal). It was only a short walk into the centre of Mayrhofen and to the bus stops & cable cars.

We stayed here for a week from the 20th July to 27th July. The room was large with a balcony and wonderful open views. The hotel was immaculately clean without doubt the best maintained place that we have stayed in. We stayed on a B & B basis as there was not an option for an evening meal but this gave us the opportunity of eating out at a wide range of restaurants all within easy walking distance. Frau Stockl, the proprietor, was extremely pleasant and helpful, and always willing to answer any of our queries we had immediately. She appreciated being greeted and thanked in German each morning. There was also an outside terrace which would have been great for relaxing (we were just too busy to make use of it)!

Room Tip: Corner room with balcony allowed us to open windows in order to create a through draft as the temper...

We stayed here for two weeks - from 3rd to 17th July. The service was excellent. The rooms were spotless and spacious. There were 5 in our party so we had two rooms, one of which had a lovely balcony with views into the valley. . We stayed on a b&b basis and found the breakfast buffet excellent and well stocked. Frau Stockl, the proprietor, was extremely pleasant and helpful, and any queries we had were answered immediately. The hotel was roughly 5-10 minutes walk from the main street in Mayrhofen and so is a great base for anyone wanting to travel around the area - it's close to a bus stop, to the cable cars and to lots of great restaurants. We would highly recommend this hotel, and this region. Thank you for a great holiday!

Stayed here for one week last year and was very impressed with this hotel. Had a fantastic view of the Grunberg mountain and valley below from the balcony of our room. The room itself was spotless and the hotel is obviously very well maintained and modern throughout. Mayrhofen is a beautiful town and an ideal base for exploring the Ziller valley and beyond. Would highly recommend a visit to the Krimml waterfalls and the trip up the Penken and Ahorn mountains in the cable cars is breathtaking! There are also some fantastic restaurants, cafes and bars (some of which supply blankets if its a bit chilly and you want to sit outside!). I would especially recommend Mamma Mia's for a delicious pizza. We had a fantastic time, so if you're considering a holiday in Mayrhofen you could do a lot worse than booking this hotel. You won't be disappointed!

We stayed at the Garni Glueck Auf Hotel at the beginning of June 2013. The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and with a great view from the balcony. The hotel was in a great location on the edge of Mayrhofen but within easy walking distance of restaurants, lifts and shops; which resulted in the great views. There was also an outside terrace which would have been great for relaxing (we were just too busy to make use of it)! The staff were friendly and polite and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and use it again :-)
