4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We stayed at the guest house. Very big room, simple but clean. Family run hotel very lovely people and extremely helpful. The staff recommended trip in the area. Breakfast and dinner were very good. In summery, good value for your money.

Can't really fault this hotel, maybe a bit further from town than some but the rooms are comfortable, breakfast pretty good and staff/owners were all very friendly and helpful. An good hotel greatly improved by the staff's positive attitude.

This is a very nice hotel, much better than what we had expected. The family who runs it is very polite and helpful, always ready to give you tips on traveling etc. The rooms are of a very good size, nicely decorated, cozy (we were a family of 3). The food really was excellent. We had both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was good basic continental: eggs, bread, lots of different jams etc; no complaints there. Dinner was excellent. You had to choose between different courses and everything we had was truly very good although not for those on a diet (and we're not that easy to please).
The hotel ba is also quite good, very cozy, good variety of drinks. However, most guests went to bed very early and so the bar was quite empty around 10 pm.
Location is also very good. Kaprun is nice, beautiful and quiet (not like Zell-am-See which is extremely busy and loud and really takes away some of the charm of being in a mountain resort).
The negative: The staff could learn some more English, it's a bit difficult to communicate at times without some basic knowledge of German (this is a problem in Austria generally though). Moreover, the hotel does not offer the Zell am See-Kaprun card which means you have to pay for everything you want to see in the area and it can get quite expensive. If they included this, then the hotel would be perfect!

Have to say that we have now stayed in a few places in Kaprun and the surrounding area but in terms of value for money the Hotel Martini was great. The hotel is family run and all of the family seem to get involved - and what's more all are of a really friendly nature. We stayed for 3 nights on a half board basis and the food served at all meal times was excellent. The breakfast was as I would put of standard Austrian composition - varied and ample for the day of skiing ahead. The evening meals were always freshly prepared (with a choice of 3 main courses) and excellent in both preparation and presentation - always being served piping hot too. The accommodation was clean and warm and set in a convenient and quiet location - ten minutes walk from the centre of Kaprun. The hotel also has a sauna (which we didn't get around to using) and a bar area which again is welcoming should you just wish to relax and have a quieter drink after the exertions of the day. All in all I would recommend The Hotel Martini and we fully intend to revisit there - hopefully in the not too distant future!

We recently stayed at Hotel Martini on short notice and were so pleasantly surprised - the staff could not be warmer and more welcoming. It is very family friendly and many guests had young children. The hotel is very clean and our room was spacious and warm (and a genuine no smoking room - hard to find in Austria!) Breakfast was a generous spread of classic Austrian cheese and meats, homemade butters, jams, breads, and scrambled or boiled eggs to order. The hotel is a short walk into town and right next door to the dorfstadl - considered one of the best restaurants in town. Overall just a wonderful, homey place to stay for a week (and the skiing at Kaprun was great, too).

We arrived at the Hotel Martini after a very long journey, the young lady on reception could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We were dealt with very quickly and efficiently on reception and then quickly sat down for our evening meal. The food was of a good standard with excellent service. The room was very comfortable, very clean and a good shower. The staff at the Hotel Martini work hard to ensure that you are comfortable and enjoy your stay.

We stay 4 nights in Hotel Martini in July 2012.
Hotel is situated about 10 minutes from Kaprun center in very quiet area. You can take a rest in backyard after biking or walking tour.
Hotel offers halfboard, which I can recommend. Breakfest is typical austrian, we missed only some pastry. For dinner you can choose between two main dishes. Restaurant is stylish decorated.
Room is spacious enough for two, with balcony, nice renovated bathroom.
We were meeting only friendly staff from reception to kitchen, no complaints about it.
There could be some improvements like free wifi, better furniture on balcony (not those plastic chairs), swimming pool would be best!
I personally was not very satisfied with bed, was very soft for me.
I can recommend this hotel!
