“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

We stayed a few nights here for New Years and we couldn't have been more pleased. We arrived a little early for check in, but they found a room that was available and we were in the room within minutes. The room was very nice and clean. the beds were soft and we slept really well. Plenty of hot water for the up to date / modern bathrooms. The breakfast was good, but we weren't expecting much from that anyways. I would give it 5 stars, but we had 1 lamp that never got fixed during our stay. It was the main light in the room, so at night it got really dark. The restrooms near the breakfast area was awful and took multiple calls for them to clean it. Also, we were never given new towels / toilet paper after our first night. Nothing that ruined our stay, but if we had to we would stay there again.

From the moment I arrived, I knew this would be a great hotel. The doorman, "Bruce Almighty" greeted us with a smile and Welcome to New Orleans that was genuine and friendly and completely in character with the city. Everyone was friendly and the room was large, fresh and comfortable. My only drawback is the staff was sometimes "too" friendly. When I was enjoying the breakfast the hostess would come and clear my place when I went to get more juice even though I was not done! What can I say when the staff goes to so much trouble to serve and keep a clean hotel? I am already planning another trip and this hotel is my first choice.

One negative that the hotel could not help. The Dumpster is emptied at 5:15 in the morning and the guy driving the truck likes to vigorously, loudly and repeatedly slam the dumpster repeatedly, just in case you did not hear it the first three times.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room with a King-size bed. I think they are a little larger than the others.

We recently spent four nights at the Hyatt Place. The room was clean, and bed was comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants. We had a car available, so we easily saw the highlights of New Orleans. On the one day that we didn't use the car, we found the trolly station close by. The front desk staff members were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good and breakfast room was kept clean and orderly. We would definitely stay here again.

Post cruise we needed a hotel for two nights that was quiet, with great beds. This hotel far exceeded our expectations. Priced very well on all travel sites, We would stay here again.

Located a short & easy WALK from the cruise port, we got an early check in and found a large room with two queen beds, and a sofa. Beds were perfect feel with comfy comforters. Flat screen TV was great. Super quiet rooms, we could not hear anything from next doors. Shower is excellent.

Hot Breakfast offers 'egg mcmuffin' type items, pancakes, french toast, all made fresh and hot. Cereals, bagels, and coffee. Nice courtyard feel to the hotel.

There is a 24/7 eatery that makes appetizers and main entrees available at very reasonable prices. We ordered the chilli nachos for $11 and it fed both of us just fine. Menu is quite big and impressive in selection.

The Julia Street street car station is located right beside the cruise port entrance. So a quick walk back here and hop on the trolley gets you wherever you need to go for $1.25. An extra 25 cents buys you a transfer to another trolley line like the Canal Street line. The Riverfront street car takes you all the way to the end of the French Market and US Mint.

Hotel is newly upgraded in all ways. Highly recommend staying here.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel! I couldn't agree more with all of your descriptions and comments of our hotel. Our location is definitely perfect for pre and post cruise traveling, and our rooms certainly make for a comfortable place to stay while away from home. I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed our complimentary am skillet breakfast. We get a lot of good feedback on those delicious breakfast sandwiches and are so happy you liked them! I will definitely be sharing your wonderful comments with the rest of our team, and we will look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to the Big Easy!

Although the Hyatt did not have any cruise packages available through their hotel, it was still an excellent choice as the Fulton Place parking garage is directly across the street. Cruise parking there is only $12 a night compared to $16 a night at the terminal and there is a free shuttle.
The hotel was clean and quiet. Service was excellent. Very pleased.

What did I want. a quiet clean comfortable room and a good nights sleep before a business meeting. The staff was friendly, courteous, and quick. They asked what kind of room that I preferred and were able to switch some things around and make it so. There was someone there to help me get my bags up to the room. I had a lot of work to catch up on. The wifi was easy to log on to and speedy. ( a major concern at many hotels) Many outlets- on the desk, on the table, on the night stand, under the TV. Easily accessible.

The hotel is conveniently located near quite a few very good restaurants and just down the block from a FedX center. It was had been raining and the bellman recalled that I might need an umbrella and offered to fetch one. The rain had stopped, so I declined.

As promised. The room was quiet and I was able to get a lot of work completed and get a good nights sleep.

Room Tip: I was on the second floor convention center side. There is traffic noise but I am from New York City...

We spent one night at this hotel and chose it because of it's location which is in the warehouse district and near the convention center. We also had a car, and we easily were able to find parking right around the corner from the hotel and there is metered parking throughout the warehouse district all in the vicinity of the hotel. I mention this because parking at the hotel is close to $30 per night. There is plenty of street parking, and the meters stop after 6:00pm and resume again 8:00am the next morning. Between the hours of 8-6 you can park for 2 hours at a time at the meters.

As for the hotel, it is true to the brand as we have stayed in other Hyatt Place Hotels in other cities. The rooms are spacious - we had a room with 2 queen beds. The room also has a mini fridge. It's a nice walk to the French Quarter, but if you are here for a convention, this hotel is perfect. We just use the hotel for sleeping, you are in New Orleans after all but it was nice coming back to the hotel after a long day and night of sightseeing.

The hotel has a gym, free breakfast - but not many healthy options - free internet and a nice lobby. The staff was friendly, the room was spotless, and the neighborhood around the hotel seemed nice. Changes are though that most of your time will be spent elsewhere but we felt safe around the hotel and for that matter everywhere in the city.

This is a great place to stay for one night or for a longer period. The down down area was surprisingly clean and being a little outside the French Quarter had it's advantages.

Room Tip: If you are just there to spend the night any room is fine.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel! We are very appreciative. We definitely believe and agree with you that we exude Hyatt Place brand standards. We find that the mini fridges in all of our guest rooms are definitely a plus, especially because New Orleans is a city that is so well known for the delicious food!

While many of our guests do spend most of their time out and about exploring the city, we are so happy to hear that you feel safe and comfortable when you do come back to rest up for the next day! We will definitely share your wonderful comments with the rest of our team, and we will look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to the Big Easy!
