We stayed at Hyatt Place across the street from the convention center the night before our flight back to Florida. The location was perfect for our needs which was a comfortable place to stay and still be able to walk to restaurants and shopping. It also turned out to be a comfy place for hiding out from the rain and cold that day. The cafe served good sandwiches and cocktails, beer for lunch and an excellent complimentary hot breakfast the next morning. It is a block or so from Mulate's, an institution in New Orleans, which provided us with dinner and entertainment. There's also a little convenience store just down the block also for snacks and beverages, souvenirs, etc.
