“Great value for New Orleans downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

This high-rise hotel is located 1 block from the St. Charles trolley and 2 blocks from Canal St. in the Central Business District. For a downtown hotel, I found there was little or no traffic noise. My room was moderate size with a large bathroom. The entry and bath had hardwood floors; the bedroom area was carpeted. Decor was modern and functionable. Lighting was good, window opens for fresh air, room climate control draws fresh air from outside. The room had a closet, room to open two suitcases, refrigerator, microwave, iron and full length mirror. The room was clean. One detraction was the lack of a sofa chair. There was one desk chair, or the bed to sit on. This was a surprising omission since the room had plenty of unused space.
Another downside, was that there was a hefty charge for parking.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
There is a business center, and an outdoor pool.

We stayed here for Jazz Fest, and were pleasantly surprised. Since the price was good, we had low expectations. But the room was decent-sized, clean, and updated. And the breakfast was well stocked. We were happy we could park the car and walk everywhere.

Wonderful front desk service, modern clean rooms. Decent breakfast.. Good location! Two drawbacks, one, the internet was super slow and sometimes non-existent. I was there for work and the room was set-up for business but not the internet. It was a major pain. Two, the gym kind of sucked. I work out everyday while out of town for work and the gym had old equipment and the tv had no remote.

We stayed here on our trip through USA and I am so glad we did. I was worried when we first arrived as it looked like it was too far from Bourban Street and not quite in the French Quarter as I expected. However, it was a very close walk (5 min) and with so many people out at all hours when my husband and I walked back late at night (early morning) I felt safe. There was a few junkies but they were easy to ignore. The reason I loved this was the awesome position. While being close to Bourban Street it was far enough that I didn't have to sleep with all the noise from that street! The staff on the concierge desk were extremely helpful. The best places we ate were all on recommendation from them. When we needed items for our room they were quickly brought up. The rooms were clean and facilities for breakfast great. We had my mother with us and we used the sofa bed but since the main bedroom had doors and its own TV it was like a 2 bedroom apartment. My favorite thing was the washing machine which, after a month of backpacking was wonderful! The pool is small but suitable and we dipped in a few times. It was really hot but luckily the bedroom and lounge had separate air conditioning units so we could all sleep comfortably. I loved New Orleans, the food was amazing and the place was vibrant! It was my favorite place on our whole trip and I am just glad we stayed here since it was central to everything but far enough that I didn't have to worry about all the noise from Bourban Street. I highly recommend this place if you want to experience New Orleans French Quarter but you also want to sleep!

Came to NO to stay 3 nites before cruise and 1 after. Had a room reserved at "nicer" place for 1st 2. Walked into La Quinta off street and made reservation for last 2.
Very pleased with stay here. Great service, very clean, true Southern hospitality.
Would definitely return.

Easy walking distance to French Quarter without the high sticker price. Stayed with DH, 2 kids and our dog. Everyone was happy. The pool is small, but we weren't there to go swimming.

As with most other La Qunita's, it's best assest is that it is dog friendly and not just for 40 lb. dogs and under like most other dog friendly hotel's in the business district. I must say though, that the enviorment outside is not very dog friendly, having to walk two blocks to find grass. The staff was helpful and friendly and the room was spacious and clean. If you're tired and looking for good delivery...Cafe Roma's has awesome pizza and delivers straight to your hotel room.
