“Very charming!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2009

My husband and I had a wedding to attend, and though we live about an hour away from the wedding venue, we wanted to drink at the reception (and not drive home), so we stayed here for the night. Parking was easy (valet) and for $28, your car is safe in the garage. This price is compatible, maybe even a little lower than what other area hotels charge for parking. I booked a room through the hotel's website for $101 and we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Jr. Suite (room 603). The room was large, clean, very comfortable, and it even had a microwave and fridge (although we didn't use them). The furnishings and decor were pleasing. The room was very quiet, even though our window faced towards the street. The front desk was very accommodating and called a cab for us to take us to the wedding/reception. The continental breakfast was more than adequate for the price of the room. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay, and would definitely stay there again.

We had a great time. It was my boyfriend, sister and her fiance' that went together.
The hotel was so close to everything that we were able to visit many places during the day yet still walk back and take a rest. At night we visited soo many exciting places, but when we were ready to go it wasn't far. The price of the hotel beat all others by a large margin, so we were very happy when we said our good byes.

Spent 5 nights at this hotel for my 50th birthday and Halloween. Booked a king suite with a sofa bed and was delighted with the location in the courtyard by the pool. Two girlfriends came to stay during our visit and the sofa bed was comfy enough for them to sleep. The room was large....two rooms really....one with the king bed/tv/large dresser. The other room had the sleeper sofa/tv/desk/small fridge/microwave. Spacious bathroom. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. It is a shame that the restaurant/bar is closed but we felt the hotel did try to compensate for that by offering the small complimentary breakfast instead. Juice/coffee/danish/croissants...just enough to start the day. The location is perfect! We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to NOLA.

I traveled to New Orleans for a family wedding. We wanted to stay in the French Quarter close to everything. Even though it was Voo Doo Fest the hotel was very quiet. The King room with no balcony was small, but cozy. The hotel did offer a free continental breakfast, but had no restaurant. My room was near the service elevator, so napping was difficult. I loved the courtyard with fountain and small pool. A nice spot to read a good book or just relax.

Hotel St. Marie is located in prime location in New Orleans. It is one block from Bourbon street and within walking distance of most everything in New Orleans. It is clean, has old time charm, staff is friendly, and it is all about location, location. The one and only drawback is the $25.00 per day parking fee in their garage. It should be less or included in the stay.

My husband and I, and two friends, moved to the Saint Marie after two nights in another French Quarter hotel which had been a huge disappointment. The Saint Marie was such elegance in comparison, and it was far less expensive.
The location is close to everything in the Quarter, yet it is very quiet. Our rooms overlooked the interior courtyard and it was never obvious that we were half a block from Bourbon Street.
The rooms were large, well appointed, and spotlessly clean. (The other hotel had cockroaches). Continental breakfast was complimentary. Valet parking was the same price as other French Quarter hotels.
The biggest asset this hotel has is its cheerful and helpful staff. Everyone from the front desk, to bellman, to parking attendant, to maid seemed to be well trained and friendly.
I will definitely recommend the Saint Marie to friends, and will stay there again.

My husband and I and another couple recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Hotel St. Marie. The location is among the best in the French Quarter, between Bourbon and Dauphine on Toulouse. Just blocks away from Jackson Square as well as some of the best food in the quarter. If you go with another couple or family, be sure to book your rooms together. We enjoyed a long, covered balcony overlooking Toulouse. most balconies were barely large enough for even one chair, but we enjoyed plenty of space (rooms 410 and 412). The price was very reasonable for the Quarter. The courtyard was lush and secluded and the pool was a welcome respite from record temperatures the week we were there. Friendly service, clean, attractive rooms and decent showers were all a plus in this lovely hotel. Other reviews warned of the noise from Bourbon Street, but with the doors closed, curtains drawn and a small fan we brought, it was a quiet nights sleep.
