My husband and I stayed here for three nights at the end of March. We hadn't been back to NOLA since Katrina, and our usual hotel (Hotel Monaco) had been flooded and never came back. I did a lot of research into trying to find a new favorite and the Prince Conti had good reviews. We were not disappointed. While it's not as chic as the Monaco, it was clean, spacious and the service was outstanding.
We checked in early after getting off the cruise ship. We did not expect to get into our room, but the front desk person (I didn't get her name) put a rush on cleaning our room. We were at lunch when we got a call from them telling us our room was done. I thought it was a nice they took the extra time to call us. She was also very helpful when we asked for info on tours and shuttles. Look for the little cards in the lobby area-we got discounts on Mardi Gras World and the Zoo.
We had a king suite room (103) and it was huge. It had a full kitchen with modern appliances. (We didn't use them-too many great places to eat!) It also had a private courtyard with tables and chairs. The first night we called for an extra blanket, and they brought it right away.
The continental breakfast was good. Lots of variety and a nice touch.
We loved the location. We usually stay in the CBD to avoid the noise of the Quarter, but this was a perfect spot. We also loved the neighborhood bar across the street-Deja Vu. Good, cheap, food, and good happy hour.
My only complaint is the room was a bit musty, and dark, but I know it's old and you get used to it after awhile. Also, the couch could use an upgrade as the cushions were pretty worn, but again, nothing to ruin our stay.
We enjoyed the Prince Conti, and would stay there again.
