“Enjoyable stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

My husband and I just returned from an anniversary trip to NOLA. We stayed here for 4 nights. Location was nice and easily accessible to everything. I had requested a quiet room not on the main street when making reservations, but didn't get it. We got a superior king right on the 2nd floor with a window onto Bienville. It was incredibly noisy on Saturday evening, but the other nights were fine. The room was very clean and I liked having the large shower instead of the tub/shower combo like most hotels have. The air conditioner in our room was also very noisy (rm 202). We liked the boutique feel. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and fresh. The bellman was always nice with a smile, However, the front desk staff was not that friendly towards us or were just too busy to look up and smile each time we walked through. The best part was Patrick's Bar Vin! We went there every day and loved ordering the cheese tray with some great wine! It is a quiet respite with relaxing decor and an outdoor courtyard. We would stay here again, but we would probably only come to NOLA during the weekdays and stay away on weekends. We do wish the hotel had a pool....it was very hot and humid and it would have been a nice feature.

There's a reason this hotel receives so many favorable reviews. The location is central to just about anything you want to do in the French Quarter, the staff was very friendly and attentive, and the breakfast buffet more than adequate. We stayed in a Superior King Room and it was clean and spacious. I usually spend a fair amount of time researching hotels before booking, but after reading the complimentary reviews, looking at the web site, and reserving at a reasonable rate I did not look at any other hotel. I will definately stay here again when I return to New Orleans.

Room Tip: Stay in the Couryard View Superior King

We stayed here from June 13th - 17th and it was the perfect choice. Always the relaxing end to our fun filled days roaming the Quarter and beyond. The staff makes you feel at home and the rooms just add to the comfort.

Waking up to the breakfast was a real bonus. My wife and I try to watch what we eat, however that was not a problem for the staff. They prepared our breakfast the way we wanted. Big props to them.

Hotel Mazarin is just a stone's throw away from Bourbon St and 2 blocks from Canal St. Be sure to get a day pass and ride the trolley & bus system. We took the bus to Magazine street and enjoyed the zoo, many shops and good eating. Ask the locals for good shopping & eating locations....they will let you know the hidden secrets!

Quaint hotel in French Quarter within walking distance to tourist areas like Jackson Square, waterfront, Preservation Hall and Cafe Dumonde. Staff were there to meed our every need. Lovely made to order breakfast if requested but full hot breakfast buffet also available if you are in a hurry. Hotel has recently had a complete makeover. Very comfortable rooms; ours overlooked the courtyard. We relaxed there over our leisurely breakfast (served until noon on Sat. & Sun), read, enjoyed the company and endless coffee and tea. Parking is about $36/night but you can park just 2-3 minutes away, at the end of the block and it's about $18. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Room Tip: The suite we viewed was not much bigger than the Superior King though it did have a small kitchenett...

We stayed at the Hotel Mazarin June 10th through the 15th. The location was great. The room was clean and comfortable, staff was helpful and friendly. Great place to stay when you are visiting New Orleans.

The Mazarin is a great Hotel. Our Superior King room was spacious and very clean. The staff was excellent and James Clement at the front desk was particularly helpful during our stay. The rooms that have exposure to Bienville Street can be a little noisy, but it didn't stop us from being able to sleep. The breakfast was good and the housekeeping staff did a great job. We are looking forward to returning to the Mazarin and New Orleans next year.

I've had the good fortune to stay at many of the best (and a few of the worst) hotels from around the world. The Hotel Mazarin is certainly a fine location for those visiting New Orleans and wishing a great proximity to the French Quarter. It is just far enough off Bourbon Street to be a peaceful place to sleep evenings but close enough to be in the action in under a one-minute walk. I'm in my 4th day here currently celebrating my daughter's birthday and it has been an excellent "home base" for us over these past few days. All that being said, it really doesn't have the bones to be a 5 star hotel. They do include a nice breakfast daily but do not have a restaurant on-site for lunch or dinner. They have an elegant bar but it is small and limited in both service and selection. The exercise room is adequate but no spa services are available and no pool in a city that is currently very hot & humid. It would be nice to be able to add swimming into the daily exercise routine or to simply cool down. Hotel Mazarin has a lot going for it but is not quite up to world-class based on these limitations.
