“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2012

Hotel Mazarin great location right on Bienville Street, between Bourbon Street & one block fom Royal Street. The hotel has been recently renovated. A few small items still need to be added. Wall safe and small room refrigerator still need to be put in place. But that did not affect us. Front desk has a safe if you need to have anything stored for safekeeping. Very, very clean, not a speck of dust. The bed,“TO DIE FOR”. Slept like a rock! Saturday night the loudest, then again you are in New Orleans in the French Quarter! No need to use a car; walking distance to all the top and inexpensive restaurants, shops, and the French Market. We ate in GW Fins, & The Bombay Club. Two fine restaurants if you are looking to get away from the usual tourist places. Both are right near the Hotel Mazarin. Service in the hotel fabulous, staff is there when you need them. All very friendly, don’t be afraid to ask them to point out their favorite places that they like, and points of interest. Renee is a great person to ask for information, he is always willing to help. A lovely wine bar is attached to the hotel, 70 different wines by the glass, impressive. Stayed four days March 10-14, wished we could have stayed four more! The weather was fine for us, cool not hot. Room has great climate control system very quiet. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Nice breakfast, starts at 7 am. Loved everything!!! See yah down in the big EZ.

Pros:
- Excellent location in the heart of the French Quarter
- Recently renovated
- Historic and trendy boutique hotel
- Free breakfast
- Beautiful courtyard

Cons:
- Room keys may need to be reset by the front desk multiple times. Our room keys failed twice in less than 24 hours.
- Room cleanliness was less than expected.

This historic hotel was recently renovated. It has a combination of trendy decor with southern charm. The location and design are excellent! The only issues encountered with the hotel were

Great hotel, great staff. This is a great hotel and in a prime location in the french quarter. All the great sights, resturants and other entertainment is in walking distance. We parked our car and did not use it until check-out. Our stay was great and started out with excellant service in their helping to stage our room with roses, wine and chocolate strawberries I requested. The staff was very friendly in greeting us, opening doors and also great service at the daily breakfast. The courtyard is so nice and is where we had breakfast each morning. We stayed in the premium king room which was very nice, comfortable bed, small fridge, coffee pot and nice big walk in shower. I would highly recommend staying here and we will be back soon.

My sister took a trip to New Orleans to celebrate her 50th birthday and had a great time! Hotel Mazarin was perfect for us. We stayed 4 nights and this hotel has recently been refurbished, everthing is new and clean, yet this hotel has still maintained it's charm. The comfortable beds, plush towels and robes, the AMAZING breakfast (especially the fresh/warm croissants and pain au chocolates which are to die for!). The staff is very friendly and then you have the location, convenient to all of the sites of New Orleans (or within walking distance to the trolley cars to get you there). We will be back!!

Arrived on Sunday March 18 and left on Tuesday March 20, 2012. What a beautiful place, this was the last leg on a bike trip that started in Orlando, let me tell you what a pleasure it was to arrive outside the Mazarin! Right away you are struck by the little details of this renovated gem. Gas lamps, plants, and great staff to welcome you!
Booked our room through Book-it and saved that way, stayed in room 402, just beside the main elevator, king superior which faced Beinville. The window did not open but just as well as street noise can be a problem.
The room was more than spacious with nice touches, a chandalier, tri-light floor lamps, duvet on the bed, luxurious sheets, marble floors through out, a lovely bath with a great shower. Nice details like having the faucet at the opposite end of the shower head, no cold starts!! The best bath linens I have ever seen at a hotel...an electronic safe, nice size tv, the list goes on...
The courtyard was tremendous, treed with a fountain in the middle, the breakfast buffet was substantial, everything from fresh fruit cups, juices, eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, brioche, croissants, chocolate and plain, yogourt, milk, cereal...and the best was the community coffee they served! service was from 7 till 11 am, lots of time for refills or late starts.
In the evening the bar was open which had a little patio with a fountain, private and once again stunning, a perfect place to relax and enjoy a cigar!
If you had a question, the staff came through for you, I have no complaints, I would strongly recommend the Mazarin, for service and location, this newly renovated gem is going to be on my return list!

Room Tip: choose a room without the balcony,

We stayed at the hotel Mazarin March 15th through the 19th. It was a wonderful stay. The hotel is between Bourbon street and Royal street. Amazing location. Steps from Bourbon but we never heard any music from the bars. We did hear people when they walked down the hallway and we could hear the valet's honk the horns throughout the night.

The service at the front desk was outstanding. We had so many questions during our stay and the doormen and front desk staff did everything they could to answer our questions and help us out.

The rooms were a bit cramped but they were very attractive. The beds were very comfortable, especially the pillows. The tv's were huge and the view of the courtyard was nice. There wasn't a fridge or safe in our room but that didn't bother us. My complaint about the bathroom was the lack of shelf space at the sink and the missing door on the shower. Even if we aimed the shower head to the side all of the water would splash out on the ground.

The breakfast was good when it was full. Sometimes the food went quickly but the staff was always working hard to refill it.

The best part of this hotel had to be the location. We didn't have a car for the week and we only needed a taxi to and from the airport, commander's palace and the old new Orleans rum distillery. Other than that we walked everywhere.

I would like to rate this better than average, because it really is a lovely place, and fabulously located. It has the perfect New Orleans "feel", and was very clean and friendly. I love the open-air courtyard, and small lobby. The staff was awesome. We asked for water because it was in the room at arrival, and it was there before we could blink! Our balcony room was very nice and modern with marble floors and wonderful shower. Now the downside - although there is a small shelf above the sink, this is one of those bathrooms with a pedestal sink and no counter, so all of my hair accesories and makeup was in my bag on the floor. There is a perfect space for a corner rack/shelving unit beside the sink which needs to be added. The main reason I cannot rate it higher is the extreme noise level. I take fault since I rented a balcony room, but be prepared to stay out all night because the noise is unrelenting. As soon as I would fall asleep, another group would drive by blowing horns, and belting out rap music. I might as well have been in the car with them. You could actually hear conversations of drunk people. This went on until 4-5am. You just want to say "Quit blowing you #**$$ horn and playing rap music"! I'm all for staying out late and partying, but this was beyond that level of intelligence. This is not the hotel's fault obviously, but be wise when choosing your room.
