“Favorite Hotel, Favorite Chain”

The price was decent and I got a great room because of my Starwood status. I concur with everyone regarding the view, the cleanliness and the ability to walk to everything. The upscale mall it's attached to was very convenient but for me, the roof top pool seals the deal.

We arrived for a one night, pre-cruise stay at the Westin about 10am and they allowed us to check on in, which was very nice. We had a special $89 rate thru a travelzoo promotion that included two drink vouchers. Parking was convenient in the deck at Canal Place & the hotel stamped our parking ticket for a two dollar discount ($16 for 24 hrs).

We had an issue with the heat/AC in our room and they moved us immediately, even going to get us new keys for us so we didn't have to go downstairs.

The view from the lobby is fabulous, overlooking the river. Room view was even better from the 24th floor. The room was clean and the location was unbeatable. When my daughter went to the front desk to ask a question, they asked if they could send cookies to the room that afternoon. It was a nice touch and she was delighted. Overall it was a great stay and we would definitely stay here again!

We have stayed at the JW Marriott, Omni Royal Orleans, Ambassador, Royal Sonesta & Le Pavillion and I think the Westin is my favorite.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I did notice that you could easily hear people in the hallways talking (esp. cleaning staff). So as long as you're not trying to sleep during the day, it's pretty good. I didn't think to ask for a room w/a river view, instead of a downtown view, so if you're thinking of coming to this hotel, ask what views the room has. We were able to walk everywhere that we needed to go, so it is well located, too.

Enjoyed staying at this hotel, nice rooms, great view. Central location, would stay again. Concierge Julie was great, she was multitasking like a demon but got me booked on a tour at short notice.

This hotel was in a good location for visiting New Orleans for the 1st time. It was only a1 0 minute walk to Bourbon Street, across the street from Harrah's casino, and only a 15 minute walk to Cafe Du Monde. Or if you wanted to take a troller car they were located around the corner from the hotel . The hotel was clean, and we did love the view from the lobby! The only downside is that you couldn't just walk into the hotel from the street, you had to take an elevator to the 13th floor because that's where the lobby was located, then you had to take another elevator to get to your rooms. So if you don't like elevators, this isn't the place to go. Overall the hotel seemed clean except for the lobby area where you can sit to see the awesome views, there were glasses and drinks left on the tables, that noone seeemd to clean up and the elevator carpets were worn.

Attended a nursing conference at the Westin. The Restaurant was nice with a lovely view of the Mississippi. The rooms were spacious and conventional. I stayed on the "starwood floor" where the rooms had a view and the halways were brighter.

Great location, excellent views of the quarter and the river, close to the streetcar line. The room was a great size, beds were average, I couldn't figure out why they put in an HDTV if they're not going to offer HD service. My room smelled like smoke, despite the fact that the hotel is smoke free. The bathroom was pretty cool, the huge mirror was surrounded by a fluorescent light so you could REALLY see - excellent for makeup application. There were two showerheads, one underneath the other, I guess for maximum coverage? I'm not sure why that's really necessary, but ok. We were actually rarely in the room, we were in town for a wedding, and had to attend all the associated festivities. Thus, we didn't try out the room service or the hotel restaurant other than the post-wedding brunch, which was pretty standard brunch fare. The concierge was friendly, and replaced our 'do not disturb' sign immediately after some drunkards stole it. The bellmen were totally on top of their game, I didn't have to open a door once and barely touched my suitcase. We checked our bags with them after checkout so we wouldn't have to lug them around for hours before our flight, and they found them promptly. The rooftop pool was pretty small, but the facilities looked clean. The exercise room was also fairly small, and I was pretty surprised that it had no TV. It did have music playing though. I can't comment on the value, my fiancé booked the place, and we had a group rate.

All in all, it was slightly lower than average quality for a 4 star, bumped up because of the awesome location.
