“What a terrible experience!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013 via mobile

First off...if you book online from another site beware. we called twice on the drive in and were told different times for check in. first was 1:30 pm our room would be ready. we arrive at 2 pm and were told room would be ready at 3. we decided to eat on the french qtr and return at 3:30 only to wait in line until 4:45 for our room. Then we are told there is a resort fee of $50 for 3 nights for web, breakfast and gym. also there is a vallet parking lot next door that also holds daily parking. the guy in the booth there told us we could park there for $30 a day but we had to park on the street, while the front desk said they would vallet to that same parking lot for $42. keep in mind this is within spitting distance from hotel. we decided to park across the street for a$25 a day in covered parking. the stay is okay. small bathroom, old tv..ask for towels with no response, etc. After first night we are sleeping bc of heavy rain in nola and at 10pm the phone rings...asking for credit card info and name from the room. luckily my wife says we will come down to front desk to figure this out. irrate at this pt. i go downstairs to figure this all out to hear her say "oh thats a scam"...!!!. WHAT...there is no telling how many ppl from out of town fall for this! absolutely terrible. so not only am i paying for a resort fee to pay this place's phone bill, I am now open to direct lines coming in from scammers in the middle of the night? bs! I hope someone witting a review has a better experience than we did if you decide to stay at this dump! you re better off on bourbon street in a tent! and thats probably cheaper!

spent one night here - older hotel with some nice original features; however could use some plumbing upgrades - shower had little to no pressure - safety support bar prevented water to be turned on fully in shower

We booked this hotel for a girls/couples weekend. We were a little nervous based on the reviews but couldn't find anything in everyone's price range and close to the quarter. We took the chance and glad we did. We booked in advance and were all arriving at different times. We were the last to arrive at 1am, but the front desk had our keys ready and supplied takeout menus for late delivery. They had a bar in the main building that was open late so it was great to sit there for hours before going into the adjacent building to our rooms. You needed a key to get into the building, however, we found a few times during the day the door was unlocked. The rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable for some, not for others, and only one pillow each was supplied. The shower always had hot water. Front desk staff was very helpful in recommending surrounding restaurants (they recommended Oceans for NOLA style food and it was the best jambalaya according to my bf). And they allowed us late checkout being a Monday. The hotel was a fantastic location and a few mintues walk to Canal Street and maybe 10 minutes to the French Quarter and Jackson Square. The only downside we encountered was the thin walls. We heard the room next doors alarm in the middle of the night but the front desk took care of it. Monday seemed to be major cleaning day and we were awoken by them stripping the rooms. When we went to checkout we left our bags in their locked room and went for lunch. The bellhop had asked when we'd be returning and if we needed a cab. We told him 2pm and yes for the airport. It was a nice surprise when we walked back to the hotel just after 2 and he had a taxi waiting for us. We would definitely stay here again. Great value, comfortable rooms, and central location to all we wanted to do!

Room Tip: From the reviews we read it's better to stay in the adjacent building.

We made reservations a month early, confirmed twice while in route to hotel. When we arrived someone from the hotel was in our room. We could hear from outside the door as they spoke to the front desk. Hotel clerk was very rude, didn't care to help us, it was after midnight and he just said there's nothing he could do because he had no more rooms. Since we had already been charged and weren't leaving he miraculously found poor accommodations. The top comfort had stains, there was left-over chicken on the chair when we pulled it away from the desk. One pillow had yellow sweat stains when I took off the pillow cover. The door knob was missing from restroom door. The carpets were torn. The elevator was not working. The night clerk had the nerve to call our room and demand we send the elevator down at 1:00 am. Not at all like the internet pictures. The night personnel need to learn customer service. They never apologized to anyone and were short with customers. Every time I went by the front desk someone was complaining about their room or service and they were rude to them also.

Room Tip: Deal with the day crew only.

We try and stay somewhere new everytime we visit New Orleans. We came upon on this hotel in a brochure. Our room was in the building adjacent to the main building and our room was just fine. Nothing special but it was clean and you cant get a central location to the French Quarter, the riverfront area, and the trolley to everywhere. For the price we paid it was a good value.

Room was clean except for a dirty towel in the bathroom....problems with air not cold enough at times...stuffy in the rooms...staff not too friendly or helpful....could use an overhaul.....everything very old and not updated at all....hotel check-in staff talked to other staff prior to addressing paying customers..... if you can find something else i might...but its not the bottom of barrel....

I spent 3 nights. The rooms do not have windows and the maintenance of the building is poor. Electricity outage, hairdryer not working.

Sleeping was good, but preparing for a good business day at work, like getting a warm shower is expecting too much from this hotel.
