“GREAT Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

This OMNI was two blocks away from the Marriott where I attended a conference. I chose to stay here because it promised a smaller, more boutique type experience than the Marriott. That turned out to be an excellent decision. The hotel is quaint, quiet, clean and inviting. It cost about HALF of the conference location. It was a couple of welcome blocks separated from edge of French Q. Totally walkable to all that - but a little bit away from it too. Room was very nice, medium in size, had some character. Fitness room and hot tub on roof deck were great. Staff and service was outstanding. Would recommend highly.

If you're like me and love to visit the Quarter, but then want to go back and get a good night's sleep this is the best hotel! The rooms are clean and beautiful with tall ceilings and windows and are quiet. The hotel is just a short walk from the FQ, Harrah's casino, the mall and everything else fun to do in NOLA! The staff is super-friendly and helpful with maps and directions! Will definitely be back!

Room Tip: There's a room, which is actually 2 separate rooms, each with a king bed and separate bathrooms...

My wife and I stayed here for a wedding and were really pleased with the Omni Royal Crescent. When we arrived we were in our room within just a few minutes and the room was clean as well as on the floor I requested. The front desk staff was helpful and accomodating. We even had a hand written note from the manager upon our arrival just to welcome us to the city.... a nice touch! Thanks for going the extr mile....

Read a few reviews commenting on the size of the bathrooms, and I did not find it to be a problem. The shower/tub was large enough, and the overall size of the room was fine... not sure what others were getting at; we though the room was very spacious for two people... heck, who stays in their room all day in NOLA anyway!

We would certainly stay again... we're young and like to go out, but not looking to be right in the middle of the Quarter.. so this was a perfect location.. walking we were in the quarter within a few minutes. Close to plenty of restaurants and a Walgreen's.

Also stopped at the hotel restaurant for breakfast; very nice staff and the selection was just what we were looking for. Fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, pastries.... what else do you need ?

Thanks to the hotel staff and please keep up the good work!

My fiancé and I are in our lower thirties and wanted a hotel close to the madness of Bourbon street, but far enough to avoid the drunken debauchery at our choosing.

The valet service was interesting...I asked a couple of questions, but couldn't seem to get an answer. I personally thought that valet was expensive per night, I believe $28 total. The check in was also interesting. The front desk rep was using nice or kind words, but had a short, snippy way of using them; which could be a "NOLA" dialect or pace, but it was a turn off nonetheless. After the check in, the front desk was fantastic. Everytime we came in and out they welcomed us.

The room was small (king bed room). There was very little natural light. In fact with all of the lights on and windows wide open our room was still a bit gloomy. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The TV has cable, but all of the good channels did not come across clear. (Tip...If you have flat panel TVs, leverage HD. It's 2012 and your the Omni). The bathroom was small and the shower did not have a full glass door, which caused water to splash on the floor and soak into the foot towel. There is not an ice maker on every floor, so if you want ice you may have to hit the elevator. No pool and the hot tub is outside. That may may be a good idea for many other climates, however who wants to sit in an outdoor hot tub at 103 degrees in an already sweaty humid climate? I used it to soak my feet after a long day of walking.

Best: Location and bed comfort
Least: Lack of natural light and shower

My 2 cents...There are better places to stay in the quarter...

We're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We will pass your comments along to our management team. We're actually working on a solution to the shower door. While we're sorry to hear you will probably be trying other hotels on your next visit, you should try our sister property in the French Quarter. It might be closer to what you're looking for in that it's near Bourbon Street, but not right in the madness of it all.

My husband and I were looking for a hotel away from the noise and insanity of Bourbon street (and it is insane...trust me) so that we could sleep at night but within walking distance to everything. This was the perfect location just on the edge of the French quarter but in the central business district. We could walk or take the street car almost anywhere - I think we only took a cab once. The hotel was clean and he staff nice. It lacked a little bit of the wow factor that I expect from an omni but overall it was a good hotel in a great location ( for us).

Room Tip: Ask to be above the second floor, otherwise you are right on the street!

Absolutely loved my stay here. The staff is always friendly and very attentive. They always went above and beyond to acommodate any needs or questions. I ate at Dress It, the hotel restaurant, and had a delicious burger made to my specifications. Loved It! I will definitely be staying here again.

We spent 5 nights at the Omni Crescent Hotel....and loved it. Beautiful hotel, very comfortable, convenient location, and great value for money. The stand out is the staff. Hunter & Paul "The Night Managers" always greeted us after we had a big night on the town, with big smiles and "how can we help, make your stay...even better" attitudes. These guys, and the great day time team at the Omni make this, the sort of place you will remember for a long time. New Orleans is great....but staying at the Omni made it sensational. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to NOLA, we are staying at the Omni!

Room Tip: Talk to the guys and girls in reception.....they will make your stay in New Orleans - sensational!
