“One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

The Monteleone does not miss a single detail. This hotel is elegant from the second you enter the front doors (which are always attended by one or more doormen). The lobby is beautiful with its polished marble floors and large grandfather clock. As you enter, to your right is the Carousel Bar with its rotating bar. Every employee we encountered was very pleasant. The room was somewhat small, but for the two of us, it was perfect. We had a view of the Mississippi River out of our 7th floor window. The room was nicely furnished and included a Keurig coffee maker and fluffy white robes. This is a grand hotel, with every possible amenity. When we asked if we could extend our stay (into the busy upcoming weekend) the hotel was happy to accommodate us. I have absolutely no complaints and if I am ever in New Orleans again, this is where I will stay!

Lovely rooms, amazing staff and a wonderful night's sleep. Ask the Concierge to give you a history of the hotel - it will give you chills! The rooms are very nice and the breakfast was delicious. I can't wait to get back to New Orleans to stay in the beauty of a hotel!

This is an absolute lovely hotel. I was fortunate to find it with a government rate for the days I was staying, which made it comparable in price to others in the area at which I've stayed before. Had a double room (two double beds). no view.. but we were only in the room to sleep and shower, so that wasn't a big deal. I used a different parking garage, because the hotel one was $40 plus tax a night. around the corner, on Iberville, was Premium Parking Lot 145. $25 a night. and when you're in New Orleans, every penny counts!! They gave us two coupons for a free cocktail at Carosel Bar. We never got to sit at the Carosel, as it was always packed, but did enjoy a Mimosa on our last day there, sitting in the lounge area of the bar.

Room Tip: Had room 483. no view. unless you consider a white wall of some building a view.

First time visiting New Orleans and First time visit to Hotel Monteleone....and what a wonderful experience!!! First off, the week before we even went down there I got an email from Anne Brett the VIP Concierge helping me plan my trip as best as we could before we arrived. She booked all the tours for us and even offered to make any restaurant reservations for us as well. She was so helpful and her expierence showed through. We would never had seen or known about so many things or restaurants without her. Also the doormen were fabulous as well. We got directions, advice on restaurants and even an umbrella to borrow so that we could run to Walgreens and purchase our own in a huge down pouring day. Both Raoul and Johnny Davis went over and above to help us out as best they could. Even when it was crazy outside with the other convention that was going on. Great employees every where. Cannot wait to return. The hotel was clean and cozy. Rooms were quaint and we had a great view from the 12th floor. We got to go up and look at the pool, but never found the time to go in. It looked wonderful though and again spotless. The Carasel bar in the lobby is a must. Bartenders were fun and helpful in preparing strange drinks that we had never tried before.......lots of fun all around at this hotel and would return in a second....We are hoping for December to see it all decorated for Christmas. The only thing that I would definately avoid when going back is the "Tales of the Cocktail" convention. It made the place quite crazy with Chaos..........We still got great service but the convention definately takes over the hotel. I think we and the other couple we were with were the only outsiders in the hotel of the convention. But still a great stay and wonderful hotel. Hightly recommend it to anyone wanting a clean hotel and a wonderful location.

Room Tip: I would go with the Super King to get the view of the Mississippe River. Beautiful. Also, Wifi is...

The location was perfect!! 2 blocks from Bourbon St. Just a block away is Cafe Beignet.Every detail has been given to this hotel! Even before entering, the outside of the building is kept pristine with beautiful plants/shrubs. The doorman, amazing!! I can't remember his name, started with a D, so incredibly friendly!! Anything you could need or want, willing to accommodate within seconds! You then walk in to a very opulent lobby, comfortable seating throughout the lobby area, and amazing detail in keeping with the era of the hotel. The bar area was equally impressive, maintaining a chic, modern flare.
The rooms are decorated and beautifully furnished, the beds are extremely comfortable! awesome pillows! The bathrooms are small, but very modern and amazing water pressure! The amenities that the hotel offers is very impressive. The roof top pool is sooooo amazing!! What beautiful area, and incredible views!! Nice that you can order food and drinks. Again..great amenities and attention to detail. Can't wait to return and stay!

Another great stay at the Monteleone! The location is so convenient to everything. The facility is beautiful. Our room was nicely appointed, clean, bed was comfortable and AC worked great. The carousel bar was a fun place to celebrate a family birthday. We always feel special staying here and can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Higher floor overlooking the river
