“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

We stayed at the Monteleone for 3 nights in July. It was a fabulous experience. The staff at the hotel could not have been better. From the time we walked into the hotel we felt like we were the most important people there.

The front desk person was excellent. She welcomed us and was very warm and friendly. Our room was very nice and very well maintained. It was not the biggest hotel room but it was very comfortable.

We consulted the concierge a number of times. Each time they treated us like with excellent customer service. Went out of their way to help us.

I will never stay anywhere else when I in New Orleans. This is a great hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Took me a minute to figure the bar was revolving! The live music lounge feel made it difficult to seek entertainment anywhere else. I loved the ambiance the moment the doors were opened by the readied doormen.

I wish they still had the little "bathtubs" in the bathrooms. Rooms can be small but you have to understand how old the hotel is....I didn't know they even had suites but they do and they are quite roomy. Love the whole vibe of the place.

Room Tip: Don't get a room facing Bourbon Street...

My very first New Orleans experience couldn't have been at a better place. The Hotel Monteleone has everything you could ask for: First Class service, heavenly amenities and it's located ideally in the French Quarter -- adding to the famous elegance and mystery of the area and city. There's no better way or place to recover from a night of amazing food, drink and music on Bourbon Street (conveniently one block away) then to put on one of the softest robes EVER after you've indulged in a shower consisting of the Gilchrist & Soames toiletries.

Looking forward to my next stay!

We stayed at Hotel Monteleone during the Essence Festival weekend. Of course, the prices were jacked up higher because of this. We have a small King room and paid a LOT!! The service we received was nice though. Front desk people were nice and helpful. Getting a cab outside at the taxi stand is GREAT. They blow a whistle and your cab is there in seconds. The Carousel bar is a nice attraction because the bar spins around. The bartenders are nice and they serve nice drinks with small bowls of trail mix. Live music there also which is nice. The rooftop pool and fitness center are nice. We had to move into the fitness center the night of July 4th to get a great view of the fireworks. The hotel put calls and internet charges on our bill at check out, so I suggest watching your bill closely before you check out and don't just pay it. Our room wasn't the cleanest, but not terrible. The maid service was good. The location of the hotel is nice also for the french quarter and Canal street.

The hotel is ideally located in the French Quarter without being on Bourbon Street. The proximity makes it ideal for walking to the Riverwalk, Convention Center, and the Superdome. Upon arrival, I received excellent service from Jani (front desk) and Darren (bellman). Darren suggest restaurants for lunch and I was not disappointed. Our room was upgraded to a king and it was nice. It was very clean, but we did have a few problems getting room service early in the day as we would have liked. Even though they came later than we wished, they did a great job cleaning it. The hotel had the best doormen I have ever seen. They only had pleasant words every time we entered or exited the hotel. In addition, they were always helpful with directions. Both of the bars were excellent with reasonable prices and excellent food. Although we were there for the Essence Festival with crowds in the thousands, once you entered the room, you did not know it. The hotel is incredible and I would sstay there again.

My third straight stay at this hotel, encounterd a few hiccups, TV not working, carpet not as good in shape as previous stays, iPod radio not working, and water not as hot as it could have been, given probably the amount of guests occupying the hotel during the holiday weekend because Sunday it was back to normal, but this is my go to hotel while staying in New Orleans. Beds are always comfortable, plenty of towels and washcloths, housekeeping does a great job, and it's within walking distance to everything. Staff is very helpful, pleasant and attended to all of my needs. I would definitely stay here again.
