“Great location and food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Stayed in the Monteleone 3 nights for a conference. Room was very comfortable and clean. Ate breakfast, lunch and room service dinner -- all meals excellent. Was given a room overlooking the elevator shaf, that part wasn't so great. Hotel bar was undergoing renovation, so was unable to enjoy it.

Thank you for taking time to share your experience during your stay at Hotel Monteleone for your conference. We are happy to hear you had a great stay with us and enjoyed your in-room dining. The renovations to our Carousel Bar & Lounge are complete and they are beautiful. We have live music and additional seating options for our guests to enjoy cocktails and entertainment. We hope you'll join us for a stay and a spin around the Carousel Bar next time you're in New Orleans!

I spent five of the greatest days of my life in New Orleans all centered around my stay in this hotel. Monteleone was the base hotel for my wedding weekend. The staff accommodated my family and friends so well that almost two years later they still talk about how wonderful it was. Somehow its in the heart of the French Quarter but manages to remain separate from all the fray just a block over on Bourbon. The place is beautiful and the staff from the Doorman to the Bartenders (nothing like the Carousel Bar)where top notch. Every return trip to NOLA I stay at Monteleone or at the very least stop by to visit.
My travel was in April 2011.

As a meeting planner, I had a corporate group of 90 at the hotel in January. I had looked at many of the hotels in New Orleans and I am so happy that I selected the Hotel Monteleone. The hotel is extremely well maintained and up-to-date with technology. The group loved the location and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it for groups or as an individual. If I have an opportunity to bring another group to New Orleans, it will be to the Hotel Monteleone.

What's not to like about the Monteleone. My absolute favorite place to stay in New Orleans French Quarter. I love the Riverview Suites. The staff always are welcoming and make you feel like you are coming home. They remember you by name and love to share tid bits about their wonderful city. Elegant, relaxing, warm enviroment. A++ Service.

Room Tip: I love the Riverview Suites. Lovely view of the river and away from the busy street. They are pric...

From the moment you get a warm greeting by the doormen, you know this is a special place. Located a few blocks away from Bourbon Street, the Monteleone is in the perfect place in this great city. The Hotel is just beautiful, it is like walking back in time into the elegance and grandeur of a historic luxury hotel. The service and staff are helpful, friendly, warm and very professional. Make sure you stop at the Carousel Bar and say hello to Parker and Eddie, the best barmen I have ever had.

On a whim, my wife and I decided to spend 4 nights in New Orleans just before Thanksgiving in 2012. We had considered the Caribbean, Mexico and other warm destinations, but the travel time was unappealing to us. I have always wanted to visit New Orleans, but I was reluctant because of the perception that, 1- It’s a party town, 2- It is a wreckage due to Katrina. Just as with most other things, perception was not equal to reality. We had a great time in New Orleans and I would go back on a moment’s notice. To sum it up: The people are very friendly. There are a tremendous amount of places to see and go throughout the city. The food was fantastic. The shopping is top notch. The city is clean and, unless you visit the 9th ward (which we did on a tour) you would hardly know that Katrina ever reared her ugly head. If you want to party, it’s there, if you want to escape and have a quiet time, you can have that too. The Monteleone is a charming piece of history located in the heart of the French Quarter on Royal Street. The rooms are quaint, classic and clean. The concierge was incredibly helpful. In fact, the only complaint I have is that the doormen were not always attentive, but who needs a doorman, not me. There is a modern fitness facility and a beautiful rooftop pool area as well. We did not eat at the restaurant; however, many locals claimed that they had excellent food. Royal St is where you want to be located if you enjoy a party, but it’s not your primary goal. Royal is located 1 block from Bourbon Street, just far enough to avoid the madness, although a bit of madness is okay...right? You head up Royal to see a multitude of Art Galleries, antique shops, restaurants (I suggest breakfast and coffee at Cafe Beignet), etc. The atmosphere is magnetic. Bourbon Street is wild and smelly. You have to see it and experience it, but it's not a place for me, at least, not every night. We loved New Orleans and Hotel Moneleone and can’t wait to go back!

Room Tip: The higher up the better.

Just spent three days in the French Quarter of New Orleans and have to say that the Hotel Monteleone was the high point of my trip. The French Quarter itself was rather depressing and dirty, yet the Hotel Monteleone was spotlessly clean. The food was excellent and the staff even better. If you must go to this area I would highly recommend this hotel as your place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms on a floor that is supposed to be haunted by ghosts!!
