“Good value and great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Great location in the heart of the French Quarter, less than 5 minutes walk from main bars and Jackson Square and right on the river front.

Large bedroom with extra large bed and well equipped shower room.

Staff were friendly, helping to organise cabs to the airport and help with bags.

Good value - especially in the build up to Mardi Gras, would highly recommend.

This hotel was very nice, staff was very helpful, and the location was fantastic. Very close to everything, you are in the French Market, walking distance from everything else (close walking distance). The hotel was a little loud (well our location in the hotel). We had a cute courtyard first floor room. People were in and out all night long and noisy at it and sitting right outside our window. But it's New Orleans, we knew what we were getting into. For some strange reason we got the room with the bathroom that was handicap accessible, and the bathroom was huge but no shower curtain and it was one big open space. Every shower was a big mess. We needed extra towels everyday to keep the water from running out into the room. It was a weird set up. Otherwise good stay.

We stayed at the French Market Inn from 2 / 13 thru 2 / 19 and once again our stay was amazing. The staff offers exemplary service and they go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you could possibly need. The hotel has beautiful balcony rooms where you can sit and look at the Mississippi River and a relaxing courtyard with a fountain, tables and chairs. This hotel is in a perfect location within a short walking distance to Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, Riverwalk, the streetcar, Aquarium of the Americas, Bourbon Street and some amazing restaurants. We will never stay anywhere else!!!

Loved this hotel! As it is in the French Quarter easy walking distance to all the sights and sounds of Mardi Gras yet far enough away to be quiet. The hotel staff was extremely helpful giving us directions and arranging tours. Our room faced out over Decatur Street and was actually very quiet at night. Loved the exposed brick in the room and the bed was really comfortable. The rooms are not large but definitely adequate. The court yard is awesome. Great place to enjoy a drink and just soak in the old world feel of New Orleans. We chose to use the hotel valet for $30. a night and it was well worth not having to worry about it. We will definitely stay here again should we make it back to New Orleans.

Room Tip: We booked our room directly through the hotel and it was cheaper than any of the trip sites were off...

Overall we had a nice stay and the room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The wi fi was good and there was a safe in the room. Our room faced the Mississippi (the parking lot in front of the Mississippi to be exact) and since the Bowl was taking place during our stay the parking lot was converted to a concert area--VERY loud during the day (fortunately done by 8 pm). The location of the hotel is fantastic--within walking distance to everything in the French Quarter and to the streetcar. Lots of taxis around. There is a tourist office a block down the street. Most tours will pick up right in front of the hotel. While our room was nice, the bathroom could have used some TLC (flushing mechanism on toilet was falling out). Toiletries provided are minimal (and by that I mean, no shower cap or cotton balls). The elevator in our building looked like it was stuck in the 1970s (but worked fine). The pool is tiny and the vending machine was broken so we couldn't buy any water bottles. There is a pharmacy just down the street, however. No breakfast in hotel. Overall, not a bad place to stay, the rooms themselves are tasteful and location can't be beat.

Room Tip: As for room facing internal courtyard if you want to avoid noise from main road (Decatur). The nois...

French Quarter is full of small hotels with limited amenities. This is one of them. Having said that the value is decent. The building is brick exterior and the rooms are smallish and simple. I wish they would upgrade some of the rooms close to the elevator as that scares people! Fortunately, our room was good although we were next to the elevator so earplugs are recommended. No accessories like restaurant. There is a courtyard and an outdoor pool although there is barely enough length to float in and it is not heated. Overall, compare this to other hotels with similar pricing. If you are on a budget and this hotel fits within it, book it!

Room Tip: Away from elevator

This was the best value for the price when we decided to book a trip to NOLA last minute (in January). It is the best location for Mardi Gras! Right where you want to be. Service at the front desk for check in and check out was great, and friendly.
If you are a light sleeper than this may not be the place for you! There was definitely a lot of noise heard inside our room; the elevator right next to our room, people upstairs walking/coughing etc..., and people enjoying themselves in the courtyard. Luckily we are not light sleepers and honestly, you cant expect silence especially during Mardi Gras.
There are tons of places to eat and shop nearby and everything is within walking distance unless your out of shape, disabled etc.
