“Good quality hotel in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Arrived late on a weekday night and was greeted by what I can only assume was a night porter rather than a receptionist. He was less than forthcoming about any details about the hotel or the location of our room. He merely handed us the keys to our room and left us to it. Not a great start. Our room was on the 12th floor with no great view but rather bizarrely a full length window which enabled you to see just how high up you are - eek! The room was comfortable enough, as was the bed, and had the usual facilities. Food was a bit expensive but then this is a four star hotel in central New Orleans so no real surprise. Daytime reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. As regards location this hotel was ideal for our trip. It is just off the French quarter but is on the main Canal Street which is in easy walking distance of most places of interest.
It was rather interesting on our last day in the hotel to see all the weekend trippers arriving, almost all of whom were trailing behind them a cool box full of beer obviously intent on partying. Late night noise on that night was raised but not as bad as I feared.
All in all we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and enjoyed the location.

Room Tip: Ask about an upgrade. Can be good value for money.

Front desk staff could not have been better. They got me checked in and into a room despite my early arrival, and kindly provided me with JazzFest shuttle and ticket information. The room was on a high floor, great view of the city. The location was excellent. You can walk or Uber anywhere easily. My big issue though was the water pipes. They only produced extremely hot, scalding water when turned on hot or cold and even with assistance from maintenance - the problem could not be solved. Supposedly there is nothing they can do about the water temperature problem, so I didn't make a big deal about it. However, I won't probably stay there again. I like my showers! Particularly during three days of rain, mud, and JazzFest filth.

Lovely hotel with a good location. It is not in the French Quarter, but a very short and entertaining walk to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. Our room was extremely comfortable with a great city view of the Mississippi River. The bedding and bed were wonderful and a welcome sight after long days at the Jazz Festival and celebrating in the French Quarter into the wee hours. The trolley runs in front of the hotel.
Our only complaint was that the concierge was not available in the evenings in a 24 -7 city. Fortunately, the Bellmen were willing to help us with directions and recommendations.

Room Tip: We loved 2910

This was weekend 2 of JazzFest (exceptionally crowded this year). PROS: the hotel has a great location by the French Quarter. We paid extra for a high-floor club room. The food on the 42nd floor Club central was good, both for breakfast and for dinner (but no complimentary beer or wine).

CONS: The room was small, so were the double beds. A single window facing the Mississippi. Tiny ghetto pool on the 8th floor, no jacuzzi. No fridge or mini-bar. All for $450+ a nite. Also, it was annoying that they wouldn't sell you tix to JazzFest unless you also bought their ripoff shuttle for $19 per person per day.

Room Tip: The elevators are funny. No buttons to push, you pre-designate. You can't go directly from your...

My husband & I stayed at the Sheraton for 2 nights over the Easter weekend before picking up a cruise on the Sunday morning. This hotel had been chosen by our Tour Operator and we were certainly not disappointed. Hotel is in an excellent location and we had a room on the 26th floor with a great view. We found all the staff we dealt with very helpful, friendly and professional and the hotel was spotless. Only downside is that you had to pay extra to use the WiFi.

The Sheraton New Orleans is my favorite place to stay when in NOLA. April 2nd-5th, 2015 was my 3rd stay at the NOLA Sheraton over the past 10+ years. The location is excellent: just at the outer edge of the French Quarter, so you have a very short few minutes walk into all the French Quarter liveliness, and then when you've had enough, you return to the peaceful sanctuary of the Sheraton. Rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished in heavy dark woods, against creamy walls, with low key artwork...my room had a big beautiful windows looking out over Canal Street. All staff (front desk, housekeeping, room service, bar, restaurant) were courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. Only slight annoyance was that the in-hotel Starbucks had ridiculously long lines in the mornings (7-9 a.m. = 15 minute wait in line): need either more staff or more efficient staff. Overall, consistently good experience and I will be back.

We stayed here during Jazzfest . It's really more of a business hotel . Room was very nice . Quite big . GREAT bed . We got it through Priceline so cost wasn't as bad as it could have been during Jazzfest . I knock the rating down because they still charge ( $12.95 per night !! ) for WIFI in your room . This is a RIPOFF . They even charge you if you have one of their special memberships .
