“Great Views from the Room and Location; Place does have some issues”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I was attending a conference which was located in this hotel. Arriving at 11:30 at night, it was not until I had my third room that things seemed ok. First room, very nice, but located next to the elevators and the shower was dripping, requested a change of room; second room, was occupied (awkward!!), Thank goodness that the door chain was used; third room (with upgrade) was fine. The staff were very empathic.

The rooms are large and nicely updated. Each room (that I saw) had large floor to ceiling windows over looking New Orleans and Canal Street. I really loved the views, though it can be noisy even on the 42nd floor. One night someone was drumming in the streets until 1 am. (Did I mention that I am noise sensitive!)

One plus, the WIFI worked and was consistent!! I had to watch some long corporate videos through VPN and did not have any issues.

The room door sometimes did not lock automatically. I needed to pull up on the handle inside to activate the locking system. The water in the restrooms in the conference area was always cold. The water temps were fine in the room and I really like hot showers.

There is a Starbucks off their lobby. Be prepare to wait and for them to get your order wrong. It seemed to be a common experience among several people that I spoke to, including me.

Room Tip: Odd room numbers have a view of Canal street and Even number rooms have the Mississippi.

This hotel has a good location, but it is a zoo at Mardi Gras. Corruption runs rampant with the hotel staff during Mardi Gras. Maid service was unorganized and rooms were not cleaned properly. (Every day a different cleaning item was left in my room from the maid cart). The rooms are pretty small/cramped. The gym is adequate, pool is small and not on the top deck. Overall this would be a fine hotel to stay in, but during Mardi Gras the prices are ridiculous and not worth it.

Stayed here during Mardi Gras 2015. The room was large and very clean. Service was really good. Location just a few blocks from the French Quarter, Harrahs Casino and the driver front. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the price. A little overpriced.

This is a great place to stay. My husband and I were here for a conference for him, The hotel was very nice, the customer service was very friendly, great location, right on the edge of the French Quarter, couple of blocks to the aquarium, shopping and Tulane hospital. We were up on the 44th floor and could see Lake Pochatrain from our window. There is a gym with outdoor swimming pool on the 8th floor.

We selected this hotel for its price and proximity to the French Quarter. Its close, but not too close. The room was decently sized for the price and clean. The quirks were that the tub didn't drain properly, which they gave us an extra credit for at the front desk on checkout, and that the water pressure in the sink was way way way low. That part may not be able to be remedied. If this does happen to you, then please call the Front Desk immediately to check on it.

The biggest part of any room is the bed. Its why you go to a hotel, right? :) The bed was AWESOME. They even give you two types of pillows: Down and Polyester fill, a rarity these days. Even more expensive places are now trying to cut corners with this, and usually give you pillows that squish down and give you a neck ache.

The elevators were the biggest hassle in the world. They had LOTS of issues, and they are weird to operate. I would prefer normal ones, but you get what you get.

The bar downstairs was nice. We got drinks there both nights we stayed. Try the Pimm's Cup. You won't be dissapointed. :)

It was nice to have a Starbucks there too. They were a little understaffed for the rush on Sunday though. People's orders were messed up regularly. They did their best and fixed it when you mentioned it, but it really shouldn't have to happen that way.

Overall, for the price and amenities, I would stay here again.

Update since I posted this last time:

I almost forgot something that was a rather huge issue: after we left the hotel, we noticed an extra charge on our card that we had registered with the hotel. We had no idea what it was for, so we disputed it and got our money back.

Turned out, the hotel tried to charge us for the time that we were in the parking garage after 4 PM. We totally knew that they could charge us for the time after 4 PM, BUT we called the garage and spoke to the manager. We discussed with him that we were on a tour and that we would most likely be done after that time frame. He said not to worry about it.

When we came to pick up the car, the attendant mentioned something about the car being past their time frame for being charged, and we explained to her that we had spoke to the manager. She didn't question us further, and gave us the car back.

Later on, we found the charge on the card that we initially gave to the hotel. Mind you, it wasn't the one that we had paid for the parking on, so we had our receipt saying we were paid in full. If you stay here and need to keep your car in the garage after 4 PM, you will have to pay, no matter what the manager in the parking garage says to you. We weren't happy that the manager had lied to us.

Green Features: They give you a five dollar credit per night toward Hotel amenities if you declare you don't want them to clean your room every day. It was handy at the Starbucks on the last day. :)

Hi Jesss5k,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Guest reviews are always welcome and I'd like to take a moment to address a few of your very valid concerns.

We apologize for the water pressure/draining in your room and are happy our front desk team was able to compensate you for your troubles. We will definitely use this as a learning opportunity with our Starbucks team and do apologize for the delay and compromise in service. We have since remodeled and greatly improved our service since your October visit. The Sheraton Sweet Sleeper is truly a gem and arguably the best part of our guestrooms...next to the view that is!

We're sorry for the misunderstanding with our valet team. There was a miscommunication between departments and for that, we are truly apologetic. Again, we value you as our guest and hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back the next time you're in NOLA. We hope to see you soon!

This hotel is wonderfully located across Canal Street from the French Quarter, so you get all the benefits of being close to the French Quarter without having to live right in it. I was also grateful to be upgraded to a spacious suite (room 3830), which helps tremendously when you are staying in a town for a length of time. The lounge is on the 42nd floor with a beautiful view of the river. I would gladly return to this hotel the next time business takes me to New Orleans.

We stayed at Sheraton NO last weekend and was kinda disappointed. It has a nice lobby area with a great bar but that to me was the best part of the resort. They have a Starbucks also for coffee lovers. The rooms where nice size but kinda dated & plain. Bathroom had 1 small sink and not much room to work with if you are both trying to get ready at the same time. No table in the room for room service, just a desk. NO REFRIGERATOR!!! I couldn't believe it, even Motel 6 gives you a frig, very disappointed. For what they charge there are too many other good hotels to stay at in Nola IMHO. We will not stay at this Sheraton again, found it very average.
