We selected this hotel for its price and proximity to the French Quarter. Its close, but not too close. The room was decently sized for the price and clean. The quirks were that the tub didn't drain properly, which they gave us an extra credit for at the front desk on checkout, and that the water pressure in the sink was way way way low. That part may not be able to be remedied. If this does happen to you, then please call the Front Desk immediately to check on it.
The biggest part of any room is the bed. Its why you go to a hotel, right? :) The bed was AWESOME. They even give you two types of pillows: Down and Polyester fill, a rarity these days. Even more expensive places are now trying to cut corners with this, and usually give you pillows that squish down and give you a neck ache.
The elevators were the biggest hassle in the world. They had LOTS of issues, and they are weird to operate. I would prefer normal ones, but you get what you get.
The bar downstairs was nice. We got drinks there both nights we stayed. Try the Pimm's Cup. You won't be dissapointed. :)
It was nice to have a Starbucks there too. They were a little understaffed for the rush on Sunday though. People's orders were messed up regularly. They did their best and fixed it when you mentioned it, but it really shouldn't have to happen that way.
Overall, for the price and amenities, I would stay here again.
Update since I posted this last time:
I almost forgot something that was a rather huge issue: after we left the hotel, we noticed an extra charge on our card that we had registered with the hotel. We had no idea what it was for, so we disputed it and got our money back.
Turned out, the hotel tried to charge us for the time that we were in the parking garage after 4 PM. We totally knew that they could charge us for the time after 4 PM, BUT we called the garage and spoke to the manager. We discussed with him that we were on a tour and that we would most likely be done after that time frame. He said not to worry about it.
When we came to pick up the car, the attendant mentioned something about the car being past their time frame for being charged, and we explained to her that we had spoke to the manager. She didn't question us further, and gave us the car back.
Later on, we found the charge on the card that we initially gave to the hotel. Mind you, it wasn't the one that we had paid for the parking on, so we had our receipt saying we were paid in full. If you stay here and need to keep your car in the garage after 4 PM, you will have to pay, no matter what the manager in the parking garage says to you. We weren't happy that the manager had lied to us.
