“Great hotel, just watch out for the water pressure and shady charges.....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

We selected this hotel for its price and proximity to the French Quarter. Its close, but not too close. The room was decently sized for the price and clean. The quirks were that the tub didn't drain properly, which they gave us an extra credit for at the front desk on checkout, and that the water pressure in the sink was way way way low. That part may not be able to be remedied. If this does happen to you, then please call the Front Desk immediately to check on it.

The biggest part of any room is the bed. Its why you go to a hotel, right? :) The bed was AWESOME. They even give you two types of pillows: Down and Polyester fill, a rarity these days. Even more expensive places are now trying to cut corners with this, and usually give you pillows that squish down and give you a neck ache.

The elevators were the biggest hassle in the world. They had LOTS of issues, and they are weird to operate. I would prefer normal ones, but you get what you get.

The bar downstairs was nice. We got drinks there both nights we stayed. Try the Pimm's Cup. You won't be dissapointed. :)

It was nice to have a Starbucks there too. They were a little understaffed for the rush on Sunday though. People's orders were messed up regularly. They did their best and fixed it when you mentioned it, but it really shouldn't have to happen that way.

Overall, for the price and amenities, I would stay here again.

Update since I posted this last time:

I almost forgot something that was a rather huge issue: after we left the hotel, we noticed an extra charge on our card that we had registered with the hotel. We had no idea what it was for, so we disputed it and got our money back.

Turned out, the hotel tried to charge us for the time that we were in the parking garage after 4 PM. We totally knew that they could charge us for the time after 4 PM, BUT we called the garage and spoke to the manager. We discussed with him that we were on a tour and that we would most likely be done after that time frame. He said not to worry about it.

When we came to pick up the car, the attendant mentioned something about the car being past their time frame for being charged, and we explained to her that we had spoke to the manager. She didn't question us further, and gave us the car back.

Later on, we found the charge on the card that we initially gave to the hotel. Mind you, it wasn't the one that we had paid for the parking on, so we had our receipt saying we were paid in full. If you stay here and need to keep your car in the garage after 4 PM, you will have to pay, no matter what the manager in the parking garage says to you. We weren't happy that the manager had lied to us.

Green Features: They give you a five dollar credit per night toward Hotel amenities if you declare you don't want them to clean your room every day. It was handy at the Starbucks on the last day. :)

Hi Jesss5k,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Guest reviews are always welcome and I'd like to take a moment to address a few of your very valid concerns.

We apologize for the water pressure/draining in your room and are happy our front desk team was able to compensate you for your troubles. We will definitely use this as a learning opportunity with our Starbucks team and do apologize for the delay and compromise in service. We have since remodeled and greatly improved our service since your October visit. The Sheraton Sweet Sleeper is truly a gem and arguably the best part of our guestrooms...next to the view that is!

We're sorry for the misunderstanding with our valet team. There was a miscommunication between departments and for that, we are truly apologetic. Again, we value you as our guest and hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back the next time you're in NOLA. We hope to see you soon!

This hotel is wonderfully located across Canal Street from the French Quarter, so you get all the benefits of being close to the French Quarter without having to live right in it. I was also grateful to be upgraded to a spacious suite (room 3830), which helps tremendously when you are staying in a town for a length of time. The lounge is on the 42nd floor with a beautiful view of the river. I would gladly return to this hotel the next time business takes me to New Orleans.

We stayed at Sheraton NO last weekend and was kinda disappointed. It has a nice lobby area with a great bar but that to me was the best part of the resort. They have a Starbucks also for coffee lovers. The rooms where nice size but kinda dated & plain. Bathroom had 1 small sink and not much room to work with if you are both trying to get ready at the same time. No table in the room for room service, just a desk. NO REFRIGERATOR!!! I couldn't believe it, even Motel 6 gives you a frig, very disappointed. For what they charge there are too many other good hotels to stay at in Nola IMHO. We will not stay at this Sheraton again, found it very average.

This was our first stay at the Sheraton New Orleans, but not our last. We received an extremely warm welcome from Karla. From drop off to being in our room, no more than 10 minutes. Our room was on the 45th with a great view of the French Quarter. Room was extremely clean and comfortable. We needed extra hangars and suitcase racks. They were in our room very short time. The Club lounge is one of the best I have seen with a spectacular view of the Mississippi River. A wide range of food each day for both the morning and evening offerings. The club lounge is accessible 24/7 and always had fresh fruits, granola bars, chips, and beverages. The staff in the club lounge were extremely friendly and provided top notch service. Location to the french quarter, and every other main attraction is an easy walk. This hotel also has a beautiful lobby that is perfect for relaxing and people watching. Every staff member that we encountered at the Sheraton New Orleans was top notch. The management team at this hotel has a lot to appreciate. Hats off to a top notch hotel team. Looking forward to returning next year.

Room Tip: High floor, facing River. Away from Elevators.

The hotel itself is situated in a great location, within walking distance to most all of the French Quarter, but not right in the midst of the craziness. The hotel is clean, caters to many groups and business travelers. If you are looking for a nice location, clean rooms but nothing charming or fabulous, this is a great place. The fitness center, however, is amazing. Its larger than any gym I've ever seen at a hotel!

we were booked into this hotel by Norweigan Cruise Line but were unaware at the time that it was during Mardi Gras. The city was chaotic but check in was quick and our room was ready for us to enjoy. The beds were comfortable and accommodated the 4 of us with no problem. If we had any complaint it was the noise level but then again it was Mardi Gras. The staff was very much overworked but they were friendly, helpful and efficient. We would stay there again (even during Mardi Gras).

Check in was a breeze. I requested a high floor, close to the elevator room and got one on the 30th floor with a fantastic view of the Mississipi River. The bed is heavenly - similar to the quality of the Westin beds. 4 pillows were awesome! It was a good size for 2 people and bathroom was spacious with a tub. Room had safe, coffeemaker and complimentary bottled water each day.

We had a problem with a power outlet shutting down but they immediately sent a technician to take a look at it and had it reset and working right away.

There is a Starbucks in the lobby. Bellhop Brian was friendly and helpful. Concierge desk also recommended great spots for brunch and tour activities. The elevator is very modern - haven't seen anything like it before.

Location is excellent; close to all tourist spots; easy walk to Bourbon and Decatur Streets. There is a Walgreens and CVS pharmacy a block away. Tons of restaurants and souvenir shops around the hotel.

If wifi was free, A/c a bit colder and if shower water pressure was stronger, I'd give this hotel a 5 star rating.

All things considered, I will book here again for the great location on Canal St.
