The good first: It's in a great location. Right on canal street next to the french quarter and not far from st. charles for the trolley.
The bad: The noise in the hotel was pretty tough to deal with. I just happened to hear two separate people in the elevators talking about how they wanted a discount for the noise level. Also, one evening I could VERY clearly hear the next door neighbor talking about the chicken salad sandwich she just ate for dinner. If you're anywhere near the elevators, their "wooshing" will be audible throughout the night. Lastly, the renovations caused there to be substantial noise during the day. I had a constant pounding going on in my room, which wasn't fabulous since I had to try to nap during the day given the strange hours I had to keep while I was there.
Finally, when I was leaving, I was directed to a taxi cab with a seatbelt that was cut and a driver that told me she accepted credit cards until she changed her mind at the airport. Not fabulous.
Would not have stayed here if the conference weren't held in the same hotel, will not be staying here again (even if the conference is in the hotel!)
