“average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

The rooms in the Sheraton are nice but standard. I've stayed in better Sheratons but it was better than our room at the W. The hotel itself is large but the staff is not too friendly. (Staff at the W hotel are much friendlier and happier) They were renovating on the main floor near to starbucks so at times we couldn't use the front entrance.

The hotel is right on Canal street so it's in a great location. Beds are very comfortable but rooms are not big (We didn't get the queen we reserved but the double beds worked out). The shower had very low pressure and the tub kept clogging so the relaxing factor was not quite there. Parking is also crazy expensive and we were over charged. Trying to get that fixed. NOLA hotels have not impressed us at all.

“excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

we just stayed at the sheraton in new orleans a couple of weeks ago. i got it off hotwire at a great price, but was shocked to see what they charged for parking, around $40dollars if i am not mistaken. so i quickly investigated the forums here, and happily did what many do. parked at harrah's casino two blocks away, joined their players club, played the machines for an hour (check your card with the players club to really see if you have chalked up an hour), got a free t-shirt, and 24 hours of free parking! so then we rolled our suitcases to the hotel. friendly staff, nice big lobby, we got a great room. and bourbon street and all of downtown new orleans are a short distance away. we walked everywhere. the room was very clean, everything you would look for in a hotel. but, another time i would probably go for a place with more character and free parking.

“Lots of Potential during a Remodel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

I recently stayed at the Sharaton on Canal street, and my overall impression was that it had a lot of potential. The front entrance is currently closed due to renovation, as is the starbucks out front. Upon arriving, the valet staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and they were the entire rest of the trip. The room was very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. I would stay here again, but I would probably wait until the renovations were complete.

“Nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Was pleasantly surprised about this hotel got it as a bid on priceline for $60 plus tax. Only stayed one night after getting off our cruise but we found the check in to be smooth and the staff were really friendly and attentive. We stayed on the 37th floor with the city view and loved every minute of it. The rooms were nice, bring your own food to your room if you are on a budget because the room service is a little bit pricey. Close to Bourbon St.

“Adequate, but that's it....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Just returned from a two night stay at this hotel. Location is convenient to area attractions. This hotel was clean, but it was not any fancier than any average Holiday Inn or similar hotel I've stayed in. The bathrooms are small, the bed was comfortable, and the room was the same size as any average hotel chain, which wasn't worth it considering the $175 per night to stay here. The only real problem was that we didn't seem to have control over the thermostat in our room. I like to sleep with the temperature at about 68 degrees at night. This room was ridiculously stuffy with no air flow. Turned the thermostat to 65 (the lowest we could adjust it to) and it was still hot and stuff, nowhere near 65 degrees. Now I'm home with sinus problems. Not worth the $175, by any means.....
