“Great location thats about it.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

We spent 3 nights at Maison Dupuy for our Honeymoon. It is a great place to stay if you want to stay in the French Quarter. Everything is with easy walking distance and we felt completely safe walking back to the hotel after a night at Preservation Hall. The service I found was very average, when we checked into the hotel by Rooney we were only given our key and told where our room was. It would have been nice to have been told about tourist attractions in the area, places to eat and a map of the area would have been good. We took our bags to our room and on opening the door I can only say I was sadly disappointed. I had booked the hotel hoping for a little bit of luxury on our honeymoon but we didn't get it here. Everything looks old and tired even down to the moldy shower curtain. I would have sacked the decorator as there was paint on the carpet and picture frame. I am sure for the price we paid you could find better elsewhere. The only smile we got from staff was when we left from a nice man Dave (i think) who kindly looked after of bags and then helped us put them in the taxi.

We appreciate your detailed review of your recent stay with us Julia R. I was disheartened to read your comments about your arrival at the hotel and your housekeeping issues. I will follow up with the respective department managers to ensure that your issues do not happen again.

We spent 6 nights at the Maison Dupuy. This is a great place to stay in the French Quarter. It is close to everything while maintaining privacy, peace and quite. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a nice pool, but unfortunately, there is no spa.

Thank you so much for taking your valuable time to write an evaluation Maxine Rhame N. Our French Quarter location is ideal to quickly walk to many of the city’s top attractions.

When we first walked in, we thought oh no, what sought of place is this. But it is perfect for a tourist visiting NO for the first time. It is older but that is part of the appeal.
Court yard in the middle and only about 3 floors high.
Clean and peaceful. Of our vacation around the USA, this was our best stay.
The hotel design is a little weird - you will have to walk down long corridors but again this is part of the appeal.
I felt safe walking to the hotel each night from Bourbon Street.
We ate at the restaurant before going out and it was good.

Room Tip: Did not get any view but that's OK. There are bigger rooms if you want to pay for them.

Tony B, we are so pleased that you enjoyed our hotel! Our hotel is actually five separate buildings (from the 1700’s) that we have been combined together and meticulously preserved.

This was the most wonderful hotel that I have ever stayed at. We were met at the door with gracious smiles and helpful hands and that attitude stayed throughout our five days in New Orleans. The pool was beautiful as was the courtyard and every other place in the hotel. We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful experience!!! Hopefully, we can come back one day!

Room Tip: Just ask the front desk for whatever you want and you will get it if they can give it!

Thank you for staying with us Tony B. Our five separate buildings date back to the 1700’s and we have meticulously restored them into a hotel with all the modern conveniences.

We were there only one night for a Bachelorette party. We had an excellent stay here. No noise, but then we were out pretty late. Loved the pool! The service staff were extremely polite & helpful. They were also very accommodating with a late check out, and for an additional fee we could keep our car in the garage while we went for brunch. Can't say enough about the location! We were able to walk everywhere in the Quarter, & it was only a short cab to Frenchman street. Had a rickshaw race back from Bourbon. Great value for the money!

We spent to nights here. The room is wonderful. Had problem with the tv. I was on vacation but I like to keep up with the news. The ice machine was a long way from our room.
Everyone working there were very nice people.

We arrived early on Tuesday May 28th, and requested a room with a balcony if available. They were still cleaning the rooms and said that we could leave our luggage and that they would call us when the room was ready. They called a short time later and when we went back to the hotel found out that we were upgraded to a junior suite since there were no rooms with a balcony available at that time, which was a nice surprise. We also met Sarah the concierge, who couldn’t have been more helpful. She was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating, helping us to set up an itinerary that allowed us to fit in a lot of New Orleans in a few short days. We would strongly recommend staying at the Maison Dupuy and taking advantage of Sarah’s expertise if you want to have a truly memorable stay in New Orleans.
