“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Maison Dupuy Hotel for two nights during our honeymoon in the States earlier this year. As soon as we arrived, a valet greeted us and parked our car in the hotel carpark and we were shown to the reception where we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was lovely, although a little on the small side (especially the bathroom), but it was very cosy and well maintained and decorated. The bed was really comfy with spotless linen. The weather was very hot and we would have liked to use the hotel swimming pool, but it was small and packed with kids.
However, the hotel was extremely well located, within walking distance from the centre yet away from all the crowds who flock to the bars at night. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant which had a good choice of food (although a little expensive, but then again, all hotel breakfasts are expensive). All in all, it was a lovely hotel with great staff and I wouldn't mind staying there again.

Congratulations on your nuptials! We are thrilled that while honeymooning in the States you chose to stay a couple nights at Maison Dupuy. Our hotel is located only two blocks from the heart of Bourbon Street making it extremely convenient for enjoying the excitement of the French Quarter yet we are just far enough away to provide guests with a quite place to relax. The Maison Dupuy is unique in that it was the last hotel built in the Vieux Carre district. It was created by joining five neighboring townhouses and designed with the best use of space in mind. We hope that you will return again soon for another stay as it would be our pleasure to welcome you back.

“Incredible room, needs work on customer service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

On our second trip to NOLA, we looked forward to staying in the French Quarter. We arrived somewhat late, around 8pm, on a Saturday night after having spent the entire day driving. One of the requirements for us is parking that is secure. However, upon check-in , we were told there was no valet and given directions on where to park the car four blocks away. The parking attendant there had no idea what we were talking about when we said we were overflow from Maison DuPuy, and claimed that the garage was only for their hotel guests. We found a pay lot nearby, but would have had to move the car at 5am! An hour later, I became quite fed up and confronted management. I explained it was really annoying to spend our first evening in the city worrying about parking when valet parking is one of the ammenities offered. They FINALLY figured something out (I think the restaurant started to empty out a bit), and we were able to leave the car there around 10pm - after having paid another $20. They waived the cost of parking for that evening, but I felt like the situation wasn't handled well at the outset and my annoyance at my Saturday night being spent trying to figure things out on my own was not understood by the staff at all. When we checked out three days later, I had to repeat the whole story twice for the charge to be removed finally.

BESIDES THAT, I loved the hotel. We had a large, corner suite that was nicely appointed and spacious, with a wraparound balcony overlooking the quarter. The room was super quiet, no noise from within the hotel or outside. The bathroom was very nice, the bed was comfy, everything was clean and well cared for. I would have stayed there again for our NYE trip, but there's apparently been storm damage so we're having to stay somewhere else. I would go back still - I thought our room was an awesome value, and we had a lot of fun with the balcony and watching people roam the quarter.

“Elegance In The Quarter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Located a mere two blocks from the center of Bourbon Street, ithe Maison DuPuy feels like it is another century away. This luxurious boutique hotel is, in one word, amazing! The rooms run from a luxurious standard to a honeymoon suite with a marble tub. No tiny detail is overlooked here. Many of the rooms look out onto the beautiful courtyard, complete with seating, a beautiful fountain, a heated swimming pool, and hot tub. The hotel offers delectable dining at Le Meritage, and comes complete with a 24 hour fitness room to work off that dessert. Everything, and I mean everything, is right at your disposal. This is, without a doubt, one of the most wonderful properties I have ever visited.

“The worst staff we have had in the USA”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

We chose Maison Dupuy thinking we would have a nice boutique hotel in New Orleans to get into the "French" feeling of the quarter as part of our 2 weeks road trip in the deep south.

Having paid in advance our stay for 2 rooms but the receptionnist managing to find only one reservation, we were rudely accused of trying to get 2 rooms for 1 in less than 30 seconds after our arrival! Then, the receptionist found the second one but did not dare apologise or become a bit nicer (I guess they might often have customers who try to get rooms for free...).

We arrived in our room and we could not see anything through the window (the glass is made in a way that would prevent you from seeing outside, as there is actually nothing to see outside) and the other room was facing a wall we could almost touch. We have asked to change room and the same lady had fun in giving us 5 times 5 rooms with the same wall view. I had to walk around in the hotel and guess where the wall stops to propose room numbers. She assured me she had no way to know that there was a wall facing half the rooms of the hotel...

1 hour after arrival, we have managed to get a "normal" room and although the rooms are clean and of the usual standard, we were still disappointed that this was not more than a standard chain room.

Overall, if you are looking for a nice boutique hotel in a New Orleans' atmosphere style, there are much better addresses. Only the location to discover the French Quarters was really good.

Room Tip: If you consider this hotel, make sure you ask for no wall facing your window!

“Close to the action, but not too close”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

We find ourselves returning to the Maison DuPuy again and again, so I guess it has become our favorite in the French Quarter. It is only a block or two away from the main tourist streets, and is a great place to retreat any time we get weary of the fun and heat of New Orleans. The rooms are like all in New Orleans, relatively small, But everything is nice, clean, and well maintained. We always enjoy room service for breakfast at least once per trip. Prices are not low, but overall we deem it a good value.

Room Tip: Any room with a window will be fine.
